He told me himself that he wrote this book so people wouldnt be looking for that stuff that's floating on the internet. Because that book is as complete as his notes can ever be. Plus you can't go wrong because it's got slides and only costs 35 bucks I think. |

![]() People now days are UW UW UW UW UW UW UW UW and if you have some extra time left you can hit UW again I have seen people raise at least 40 NBME points in one month only using UW and FA. And with UW it seems that the rule that if you score more than 55% cum, you will pass is correct, I havent read or seen nobody that have score that and fail the test. Now in low 50's is a different story

Qbank Scores
Congratulations on Passing !!!
Now for a question What do you guys think? Regarding Qbank (eg. USMLEWorld, Kaplan) scores being an indication of doing well on Step 1 - do your scores doing the Qbanks the second time around mean anything? I mean if you do USMLEWORLD the first time and get terrible scores but do it again after studying the answers and get decent scores is that indicative that you learned material you had to and you'll be okay or just that you remembered answers and that it doesn't mean anything? One of the reasons I'm asking this is because I was wondering whether starting USMLEWorld even without finishing studying properly would "waste" the qbank as a valuable resource and indicator of doing well on step 1. Seeing how important you guys think it is I'm tempted to start it ASAP. |

I ask them and this is what they told me:
The cumulative performance gives the entire performance and does not distinguish between first or subsequent attempts. The first % is more reliable as it gives you an indication about where you\stand. If your cum performance later increases to 70% it might be due to familiarity with the question and hence might not be accurate. Yes. If you repeat a block of used questions then the performance is counted towards the cumulative performance. The best way to go through the QBank and measure your performance is to go through all the unused questions first. That will give you an idea about where you stand in terms of preparation and identifying the subjects you might be weak in.
