Took step one yesterday

Hey everybody,
I know how much this forum calmed my nerves so i just wanted to post my experience for those people that are like me with lots of anxiety. I took the step yest...first... lots of goljan...no dic hus or ttp (had to add that...with much disappointment) about 15 q's on anat and neuro anat (pretty basic)...3 Cts of brain and 2 cross sections and a gross specimen of the brainstem...a few xrays and histo slides but didnt need them...physio was my downfall (gave quite a few lab values)...lots of common diseases DM, HTN, AIDS...micro was basic...one parasite question NO mucor, blasto or histoplasmo...Lots of staph/strep...pharm was straight forward except one chemo q and HIV q that i didnt know...lots of antibiotics...behavioral was very similar to qbank q's...a few mol bios and genetics..a knock out mouse q that really just bolied down to a simple genetics q...one emb q on coarctation-turners...FA is sufficient for msc skeletal anat, emb and micro...somehow i got a whole lot of ovary questions...everything else was fairly straight forward. around~1/3 giveaways, 1/3 down to 50/50 and 1/3 down to 3 choices...8 questions that i had absolutely no idea ***. The q's were a cross btwn qbank and nbme...a lot of mechanisms...takes a little time to figure them out but you do know them if youve been studying even if you think you dont!!..the test definitely makes you think...i was very calm when i started the exam and that really helped me out a lot bc it seemed like the first 100 q's were a cake walk...the 5th and 6th blocks were killer cause i was super tired and my eyes were drying out from staring at the screen!! I suggest FA the last week...very good general review...also review those receptors!! G prot, tyrosine kinase, etc...thats an easy way to pick up a few points...reviewed it two days before!! Thank god i did...like 8 ques!! just waiting and praying for a 182+. Trust me on this, keep the test out of your mind the day before!! Its a very general test and you dont want new information to cloud your memory. Staying calm is a secret weapon for sure!! GOOD LUCK!!
