Smile

Hi everybody!!!
My first exam was really terrible or it just seemed to me, much molecular biology, physiology and tables. After the exam even before I got my results I decided to buy more books (before I had Kaplan , Q bank (online), FA ,high yield gross anatomy @ neuroanatomy.
I think Kaplan is not enough and I don’t like how they explain at all. Ok, I bought Pathology (F.Goljan), Behavior science (Barbara Fadem), Physiology (Linda S.Costanzo), high yield molecular biology. After I read this books I understood why I failed first time, I had really many gaps, especially pay attention to cell mechanism and second messenger, many people say be sure you can draw tables, it’s right but also I had several qs without tables about second messengers,

transport across cell membranes (primary, secondary….), tables of neurotransmitters (they love it),
you must know endocrine physiology with all tables and pictures.
FA must know all!!!!!
In my opinion NBME form 1 is to easy, please do form 2-3, it’s so close to real exam, don’t repeat my mistake…..
I think my exam was equal in all subjects and I don’t believe when people say 50% pharma, yes, it’s true 1 exam it seemed all molecular biology, biochemistry, genetic, beh. science and all things where I was weak.....
I hope it was helpful…..
GOOD LUCK for you all with STEP 1!!!

Question High lighting feature?

What did you guys mean by the high lighting feature?
I'm an IMG and going to start preparing for my Step 1 in September and planning to take it in jan or feb '07 depending on how well I feel I have prepared.
Any tips for preparing during this time coz I feel I've forgotten most of my basics? I want to score atleast 95 if not more.
Thanks I appreciate it.
