1)What is Oasis and how do u check it?

2) I took exam on June 1st and it says on Usmle website that my score will be reported on july 19. Should I wait till july 19 to check Oasis or i should still do it after 3wks ?

I am fricking out about my score. I think I failed. First 4 blocks went well but the last 3 blocks were mostly molecular biology and also I had 10-15 epi-stats question. Hope I pass. I am praying to God. I have to wait 6wks to get my score.....Please Pray for me

You can check OASIS on the 22nd of June .. it should be reported by then.

What you do is ..go to Oasis ..check to see if your score is reported..

If it is ..then ...go to IWA on ecfmg.org site ...then try to register for USMLE step 1 exam ..and if it let you register..then you have failed the exam ..however ..a bunch of red letter show up ....read it ..and it will tell you that you passed the exam.

If it is not reported ..then wait and check it on the 29th of June.

* ... i think you pass the exam dude ... i felt the same way .. 1st ...3rd ..and 7th block i thought was hard ...and the other 4 blocks .. i guessed on 10 questions ....and i got over 200 ..so ... if you feel the same way ..then you're good..

I need my scores ASAP and can't wait until July 19th! Hopefully our scores will come back on the 22nd, I also took it on June 1st.

If we took the exam on June 1st, when can we expect the scores to be ready and who gives them to us. Thanks in advance...

Thanks for the reply Demarco but it says on the USMLE website that the people who took the test in our time frame (late May-June) have a big delay in getting our scores reported. I checked and as of today they have not been reported. Anybody else have this problem if you took it at or close to June 1st.

I took the exam june 1st as well. Freakin checked every hour yesterday, stayed up all night cuz i thought i was gonna get an update on oasis. Hahahaha, yah no update for me either. I guess we just gotta play the waiting game and go through this stressful ** every freakin week now. Argh!

OK, this is really beginning to suck since the scores STILL are not in. Geez, I feel like I am back in the caribbean with the snail's pace. Six weeks is a lifetime for a step one testtaker to wait for scores.

Hey! I´m your same situation, desperation is taking over me, even when I know what is happening I had hope this was only a safe date they said but results were coming earlier, time passes and no results yet!!! the thing is, I wanted to start studying for step2, but with this situation I can´t concentrate.

ABOUT THE OASIS TRICK: I´ve been reading a lot of posts to stay calm, and I learn that by now, if your elegibility period ended they let you re-register; that happened to me and I freaked out! Then I read the scores have to be released first. I also heard of someone who still can re-register even when he have his passing results in his hands by now!!! So, this Oasis trick seems to be confusing or not working in every case.

When I get anxious I read this post that explains what is happening with our results... I took it from somewhere, it makes me feel a little better, here it is:

Okay, so I couldn't resist calling to find out if there was anymore info on this inssue.... and I got in touch with someone at NBME who actually knew something (or at least sounded like it)...

So this delayed release thing is not random. Everyone who took their exam in late May or early June was supposed to suffer through the delay and wait two months for their scores. The people who got their scores in 3-4 weeks were lucky enough to test at centers where the administrators did not provide an update file to the nbme in time.

The purpose of the update was to receive a new resource file at each test center that collects data about each test question, and also technical data about the computer and the nbme software, etc/nonsense. Then this info gets sent to NBME - but they need enough testers to make the resource file data reliable, so they chose this time of year every year b/c the volume of testers is so high, allowing them to shorten the time period for collection. The delay is not for collecting information to construct a curve, since there is no curve, and the administration of any single exam (which can occur at more than 1 time point in the year) gives more than enough data to get a reliable mean and SD.

If you tested in late May - early June, either you will get your scores in 3-4 weeks (test center forgot to update) OR your scores will be released on July 12th/July 19th; nothing in between. But none of these "modifications" will affect your scores, which are entirely derived from mean and SD calculations on each exam overall, not individual items.

I don't know whether/how much to believe, but it sounds reasonable. Hope this comforts someone else who will be waiting at least 3 more weeks (possibly 4) to receive their scores in the mail.
