I passed 1, 2, and 3 and CSA all on the first try. Scored over 200 each time.
As of now, there have been 14+ that have passed and 1 failed from the April class (the basic science class that finished in April)... more results are expected in the next few days/weeks... The school does not keep official numbers of this... the students are not required to report back to the school about their passing (the clinical office would have an idea though if they have not attempted to start their rotations!) ... and the school does not get a report from ecfmg on pass/fail... the numbers that are discussed are those that come in from students on a voluntary basis...
I passed USMLE Step 1 on my 1st try, also well over 200. I believe the school is now requiring score information from the students and is working on official numbers.
510 points hey i passed step 1 the first try and every prof on the island will tell you im lazy. The material is taught well enough that the test is very do able
Dr.Ira, I read in the new edition of Dorlands that the definition of lazy was ira...But, we love you anyways....

I was in the April 2005 class and I just found out this morning that I passed Step 1... So the number is at least 15 now that I know of personally. You can get exactly what you need at SESOM.
517 points I asked the same question during my interview. I was told they do not have an exact number, but it seems to be directly related to gpa during basic sciences. I was told for students with a 3.0 or greater the pass rate is about 95%. He also said there was sharp drop in the pass rate with below a 3.0 gpa. In other words if you study and you're smart, you'll pass. If you're stupid and you don't study you fail. I think the overall pass rate is about 70%.Originally Posted by jagged_status
It sounds like the GPA correlation is based on the fact that to get a 3.0 you have to know how to study (and then actually do it) and its just the same thing for the USMLE, you have to know how to study.
