    Shady Practices, Volume II

The statements on this forum about shady practices at the University of Sint Eustatius represent merely the tip of the iceberg. It is not only fine associates like Dr. Bern Anderson who faced arbitrary termination, the original founding principals of this medical school have been systematically eliminated after years of dedicated service. The vision of the University of Sint Eustatius was established by experienced medical educators and has been corrupted by the greed and nefarious business practices of Michael I. ***** and Dr. Joel Grad. It has certainly not escaped notice that the names of the founding principals, Dr. Jack ********, Dr. ***** **** and Dr. Frank Chambers have disappeared one by one from the school catalogue and website. Stock manipulation lead to systematic diluting of the shares of the founders as well as a loss of honest vision. Michael *****’s machinations led to the embarrassing failed site visit by the State of New York in 2001 and a philosophy of corrupt practices and broken promises that will keep Sint Eustatius forever a third tier institution. Given that Michael ***** has a felony conviction for tax evasion, what would one expect of school that allows such an individual to control the Board of Directors? Do not hold your breath for any approval by New York or California, they will see through the lies and deceptive practices.

    Get Lost..........truthbetold is a liar

If Saba can get approval, surely Statia can.

Go cause trouble elsewhere because Statia students do not appreciate you spreading rumors about our school.

Sint Eustatius, your version vs' reality

    Dear Sir,
I can’t really say anything about the names you’ve mentioned save one….
I have know Dr’ John (Jack) ******** for the past few years in person, I consider him and his family as friends of mine and Dr’ “B”(as he as know as) as my mentor and the best example of what a great man as well as a professional Doctor should be like.
Now, having known Dr’ “B” in person I can say I do know what happened in his life that lead him to leave(not fired nor any other B.S. you wrote). In order not to infringe on his privacy I won’t go in to details, but this I can say…. Dr’ ******** was at no time FIRED or FORCED TO LEAVE like you claimed….
Thus the logical conclusion is that your sources or knowledge is lacking at best, and malicious at worst!!!
Regarding Texas rotations, again you are wrong, a class mate of mine is currently starting her rotations in Texas, thus again your information is wrong and misleading at best.

To that I may also add that I consider the rest of what you wrote equally untrue or deceiving, and that you have written for reason that only you know.

I truly hope that you check your information more carefully prior to posting such things in the future.

    Yours sincerely,
RES101(a student that has just recently graduated from the Island)

Only good things to say about Sint Eustatius SOM

Unfortunately, there are people like truthbetold who are hired by other schools to post on the internet in order to cause problems for another school.

This behavior has been going on since 2000 and I just encourage students to ignore these dreadful post.

Honestly, Truthbetold does not hold any water.

Sint Eustatius SOM will get approval from NY and Cali. in due time. This school has made alot of progress in a short period.

I am a graduate from Univ. of Sint Eustatius and I can confirm that this school is one of the best in the Caribean. As a transfer from Saba, I can tell you this school is much better than Saba for Basic Science and Clinicals.

I will refrain from bashing Saba, but if truthbetold...........Saba is one of the worse schools in the Caribean, especially for Basic Science.

    Peace.

    saba

"Saba is one of the worse schools in the Caribean"

good enough for california approval though....so does that show that the requirements for cali approval really are low and basic?

i only know one student from statia, he was bright and seemed happy with the school, the only thing i personally didn't like was that he set up all his own rotations, some at private doctors offices, and was taking step one and two at the same time...this was 4 years ago though so maybe the policies have changed? good luck

    Interesting Take on NY Approval

No one seems to mention that SMU got New York approval the first time. It took Ross 2- 3 times for approval. Certainly SMU is a school with a lot of baggage and problems. Probably means New York is not all that difficult.

Sint Eustatius is up and coming

Sint Eustatius is in its infancy and still yet has managed to become one of the best Caribbean medical schools and certainly has accomplished more than the rest of the schools in the amount of time that the school has been in existence. People have come and people have gone. Some administrators have been wonderful, fulfilled a need, and moved on. Others presented themselves differently than what emerged and have had to move on. The rest still have 'the vision' and are working toward it...and succeeding. This school is not just a handful of people... things change. And the school will continue to change and improve. Life is about change. I am in the 5th of 5 semesters here on the island and the changes have been phenomenal. Students a few semesters ahead of me have gone on to pass the Step 1 and are doing clinicals in many states. We are getting what we need here on the island and so will future students. Time will tell the truth.

    shady things volII

I find it really funny that people like the original poster who have less than a handful of posts including ones that are degrading to our school..Do you attend Statia? If not then I kindly ask you to take your comments that degrade our university elsewhere. We at Statia are a very tight nit, hardworking group and do not need people like you to come in and make any attempt to do damage to our university.

I wish you the best but thank you kindly to keep your information (which you seem to have totally backwards) to yourself and off our forum. We as a collective group are not into school bashing or comparisons, we know that we are ready for the next step once we get off the island. Best of luck to you and if you dont go to Statia, please dont talk out the side of your head.
