Thread: Need Apartment Rental Advice For Future Fall 2004 Student!

I just found out today that the dorms are not even an option! I need advise.. I went to the school's website (http://rental.eustatiusmed.edu/) to findout to rentals.. I am looking into renting a 1 bedroom or studio by myself, does anyone have any advice on which apartment complex is the best? I noticed only 1 apt. supplied a dryer.. so should I not bring jeans as a clothing item? It doesnot line dry very well.. I am very suprise of the living accomodations,no dryer? how crazy.. but I am from seattle,wa.. line drying your clothes is not even an options.. OK.. Please provide me advise anyone..I really need it! Thanks.. a bunch!

I am looking for an apartment for the august term a well. Who is graduating in august that has a place for one person, that thinks they have a great place/deal. That I can take over your place. tell me who to get in touch with.

Its really hard to choose with the vast list they provide, it seems all the apartments are ok, but not great.. we have to hang dry our clothes.. I think i might go with a maid service, since I know I won't have time to clean my apt. anyhow best of luck to you as well, to finding an apt. I guess we will be in the same class.. august 30 2004 is when I will be on the island.. hopefully we both won't be homeless by then.. take care and best of luck!

I hope we're all not homeless then.... I've been checking out the rental website too. Does the University help out in finding an apartment? I'll be coming also for August 2004 semester!!!! Can't wait to start!!!

Hi fellow classmates!

I have called a few of the numbers on the apartment list on the web site. Some of them are reluctant to rent without "seeing the whites of your eyes" if you know what I mean. SO when i came across one that didn't have that in their requirments, I have sent in a check. It is not where I wanted to be, but the price was right. Somehow I just was not comfortable waiting till I got to the island to find a place. I hope the place is not taken yet. I would hate to have to start over again.

Anyone started packing yet! I have a running list in my head. Anyone given notice to their employer yet? I can not decide when to make it my last day.

See you guys/gals soon! I can't wait either. I have already started to make a computer program to take notes on excel with. It is coming out soooo great I can't wait to use it.

I'd like to start chatting/ emailing some up and coming students of the fall 2004 class.. I will be on the island by August 30, 2004.. I have not yet found and apt. or a plane ticket.. All I did was go to the schools website for apartments, and click on a few and then called the number listed. Some of them have pictures, and a map of the island, and where the apartment is located in regards to school class rooms.

Did you reserve your apartment from now? If so did you put a deposit down or something? You know reading all this about us getting started in August make me even more excited. When are you planning on arriving? I'm trying to get there by Aug 25th to give me time to get situated over there. Do you know what the class size is going to be? Last I heard there were only 17 students so far...

hey guys, I did talked to Ken, there will be about 50 to 60 students, but no one knows real figure yet. I hope it will be small. I do not know when r you planning, but I am think to arrive on Aug. 26... I hope I will have enough time to know everything around.
