Hey everyone,

I thought I'd start this for anyone who is applying to, or has been accepted for admission into, USESOM this September ('09)

hi guys,
i spoke to NY office yesterday and they told me that we had a visit by the holland authority 2 weeks ago and our school has been approved by the holland,and Ken was really happy to tell me that.

Anyways,what is the deal with getting holland approval,how ahead it'll push our school in future.

Yeah,one more thing ,once the construction of the new building starts,we'll go for the NY approval ,thats what accordiong to NY office.

compassion or vasman might have info about it.

i don't know,thats what i was wondering if vasman or compassion have any information about this hollad approval issue.

i concur...they've been a great help to us

it's the holidays though and they deserve a break haha...

in the meantime, we future students can banter and at least get to know each other

No doubt about it,they r awesome,Oh yes,holiday season,they should enjoy,but guys ENJOY RESPONSIBLY.

If SESOM is approved by Holland... and Sint Eustatius is now Netherland but not Netherland Antile.. Its considered as a Dutch medical school that is just located in Caribbeans.., well.. that's what I think it is.. Kind of just the medical school in Hawaii is also a US med school just that its located somewhere in the pacific ocean.

So u mean to say that this holland deal has nothing to do with NY CA FL approval or this holland stuff would be of any help to our cause to other states approval.

Somebody gotta find out about it through some good sources.

being off island, i don't know too much about what goes on with admin. compassion would know far more than me. with that said, i think this is good news. it should be a little bit easier to get approval now. school recognition is all politics and i'm sure the netherlands gov't has more pull than the netherlands antilles gov't does. it'll be interestng. i don't think the time table changes much though.

no breaks for us! i need the school to hire me for PR. lol. it sure beats my income of $0.

Na... I am sure I know far less than you... I don't really get involved with what is going on with school/admin but I just focus on my studies..,.

I don't believe Holland has anything to do with NY, CA, FL, etc approval. However, I do believe it will be a significant help to our school on getting those approval sooner. Reason... if our school is going to represnt Holland, I am sure Holland will push or help Statia to become a better medical school... maybe help us in budget.. who knows.

Best person to ask is Mr K in NY office... anytime my parents have question or request.... they always go to Mr. K.

So yea., if Mr. K said NY approval will be right after new campus finish... I am looking at 3ish years and hopefully they will grandfather it back 3-5 years.. who knows.
