Thread: Did Winair ask you for a fax?

I just booked my flight with Winair and they are asking me to fax them my information due to a large amount of credit card fraud.

DONT fax them that information. I think that is where the fraud is. You could just call them and tell them you got the email and verify over the phone or whenever you get to the airport.

Uhoh...I faxed them the info.
Should I be worried?

I am pretty sure that the email is authentic. I don't think that there is anything to worry about.

It had my correct record locator number on it.

I think that I would just rather call them then fax my information.

I was just wondering if anyone else had gotten the email.

I also recieved and e-mail attachment of winair requesting credit card information. I think its legit, but is it necessary. Are the flights still reserved or is it pending untill we fax over the stuff requested.

Its So Inconvenient!!! =(

Okay, I just called Winair. I was on hold for 30 minutes HAHA!

Anyways, I confirmed my flight over the phone and they just told me to bring the form they sent to my email to the ticket counter when I get there.

I asked her if my reservation would still be there when I got there and she said yes like three times.

So just a heads-up for you all. You all might want to do the same and call them to confirm. Their toll-free number is(866) 466-0410 but be prepared to hold for a long time.

I'm sure its perfectly legit, I just don't feel comfortable faxing my complete credit card information and passport information. I think it's much safer to just call. As far as I know its not mandatory though. I know many people who were on the island until last week that didn't fax or call or anything and they were still able to get on their flights home for the break.

Anyone had bad experiences with WinAir? Like luggage late, hmm., flight cancelled w/o refund... or missing items from luggage?

I am coming in Sept. 08 and I was wondering how you all went about booking flights, picking an airline, and how much it cost if you don't mind telling me.
