Anyone have any information on Access Medical Group which handles Atlanta rotations?

Does anyone have any information regarding the group AMG which handles all of our atlanta rotations?

Is that a bad thing? To have all/most out patient rotations?

    thanks!

It's my understanding that students prefer Greenbook.

And many of these student apply for states like MI and IL for residency and their respected schools sign the license for stating they did it all in ACGME hospital. I think this is so wrong.

For IM and Surgery, you definitely want to have a mostly Inpatient experience esp in the ICU, and better yet a preceptor who teaches you as he/she does cases in the OR. You learn so much better this way. Also it helps when one is studying for CK, can relate to the info so much better. Initially I wasnt going to take Surgery before CK, but I am soooo glad I am, because I am learning soooooo much about Medicine in my Surgery rotation.

@soniaa, Michigan doesnt care for an ACGME hospital, they just want it done in a training hospital, which can be one that residents from any program rotate through, even AOA (osteopathic) residents. Someone posted that somewhere on valuemd, they contacted them.

I am a little confused. I am somewhat interested in doing IM and Surgery in Atlanta. Coprolalia, you are saying that AGM only places you in greenbook rotations. ANd, student 8686, you are saying that many of the rotations that students are placed in are all outpatient. I'm confused as to whether all outpatient translates to "bluebook"?? Or are there outpatient clinics that are still recognized as greenbook? Have both of you used this AGM service?

I know of some med. students right now in Atlanta that are working with AMG. Also I know of 2 Med students looking for roommates, if you want a quiet peaceful place to study, located with good accessibility to a number of hospitals, just contact me and I will put you in touch with one of them. Call 678-497-4075 and I will connect you.

ok so i want to confirm - i checked out the AMG site, they guareentee greenbook rotations iin the sense that the doctor you clerkship with is affliated with a greenbook hospital.
am i correct in understanding that when it comes to liscencing- its still considered that you did ure rotation with a ACGME-certified hospital for that particular rotation. ??

    thx

Curious about these AMG rotations. If all goes well I will be rotating with them in the fall. Has anyone done an inpatient rotation in GA.

The contact person at AMG is Doris Matsuura, : 770-315-4161

Also she can put you in contact with room options that are extremely affordable and convenient to several locations. Available in July one for $400 and one in Aug for $460mo. all inclusive of utilities, furnishings, appliances (incl W/D), net, linens, towels, kitchenware, etc. Lots of convenient parking too. She is great -just ask her about this.
Thanks again. I will call D.M. today
