Anyone have a positive experience dealing with the Clinical Coordinator- R. B.

She won't answer emails. Claims she never gets them
She won't answer phone calls. Claims she's always out of the office
She won't mail things on time. Claims they were sent but they aren't
She won't schedule clinics on time. Claims she's waiting on responses but then pushes you aside
She won't contact you when she says.. She doesn't make many claims with that.

All, students really want is organization. Someone to pick up a phone when you call. Things mailed when they are suppose to be mailed.

Its not hard. If its too much work, get an assistant.

I shouldn't have to call 5 - 10 times to finally get a hold of her.

Anyone else feel the same way?

Your rotations are simply what you make out of it. If you dont feel like you are getting enough, ask the preceptors for more stuff, ask them if you can see more, tell them you are interested in the field and want more.
Better yet, you do know that you can set up your own rotations, identify the players in the field in the area, you will be surprised how many will be eager to be preceptors, and take you under their wings, and show you quite a bit of stuff. Thats what I did, and its the best decision ever, I have learned so much from some of the brightest. It also helps when you are not the 1 of many med students on a rotation. You get more personal attention.
One thing I realized quickly is not to expect too much from anyone, including the school, it forces me to go out of my way to get stuff down, and allows me to channel any anger into productive networking. Best wishes.

Is this true? NOOOOOOOOOO. Someone need to stop this myth!!!

90% of the schools rotations are not green book! Most if not all of them are not good. Big waiting lists...
Dude and you are??? New acct, 3 posts and all negative, and we are all supposed to get excited? It'd be diff if u were actually doing rotations here yourself and said so, it would make u more credible. Most Caribbean schls have long waiting lists and if you were so gunho about green book, then u should have gone to Europe for clinicals! Coming on here isn't going to make u get the MD degree any faster!

All I can say is that I did all of my rotations greenbook with no more than 2 weeks between a rotation.

    I have no complaints.

You must have rotated a long time ago because I was just told there is a year long wait list for some greenbook sites. Can anyone advise us on how to setup our own rotations? If I knew how I'd have started already.

It seems that a lot of us are experiencing the same issues with R.B. in terms of the phone call/voicemails and e-mails not being returned promptly. I like to think that she is doing her best, and I know that coordinating 200+ students would most definitely be challenging. It's one thing to complain on here, but can I ask how many of you have tried contacting the clinical dean or someone higher up? It's just a thought, but if many of us contacted someone who has the ability to hire people, and told them the problems that we are experiencing, the frustration it causes, and the need of someone to help R.B. out....maybe it would make a difference? I just want to see if anyone has done this. I have thought about doing this, but it doesn't mean much if I am the only one that mentions it. Strength in numbers

i always had trouble getting a hold of her, whether it was email or phone. i know others in my class that did not have that problem. it seems hit or miss and she seems to be busy. i therefore ended up setting up almost all of my rotations which fixed the issue for me.

It's been going on 9 weeks now since I had first contacted her about my next rotation. After 7 e-mails, and 11 voicemails left for her, the only messages in return that I have gotten were "I am confirming receipt of your e-mail. I will reply tomorrow". However, tomorrow has never come...
The few times that I have gotten ahold of her to actually speak with her, she had given me some blatantly wrong information regarding some clinical sites. I could not tell if she was just extremely unfamiliar with the sites or if she was just trying to appease me by telling me what she thought I wanted to hear to get me off the phone.
I have always been nice, patient, and understanding, but honestly...this is getting to be too much.

Hey, I'm currently considering transferring into Sint Eustatius for MD3... I've heard a lot of good reviews about the schools basic sciences. People have told me Sint Eustatius students enter rotations with knowledge and perform better than other non top 5 Caribbean med schools. I've also heard the rotations sites are great and there's a minimal waiting period. Are these things still true or are many current students experiencing otherwise? Also, where in Duluth, GA is 5th semester held? What's the structure like?
