the best place is to call the school but since them being brand new, i'm sure they will answer yes to all of your questions.

DOCplucinski's opinion not withstanding, I'll answer the question anyway.
No, there is no way that I can honestly tell you where the clinical sites will be. At this point, we are working with several sites but since there are layers of approval that need to be sought, we can't say who will and who won't sign on. I think you can expect to see sites on the east coast developing first but we will eventually work to develop sites throughout the US. As sites sign on and we can give you accurate information, we will do that. I'd rather tell you fact than just supposition. I think it is safe to say that the quality of professors will rival the better medical schools in the Caribbean. We have been and continue to recruit faculty who have a reputation for successful teaching. In most cases, we know the individuals personally or they have been recommended by people we trust. In some cases, we have sought the advice of former students of prospective faculty. You can look forward to a quality faculty. The handouts are not developed by administration. They come directly from the faculty in each course, so I can not tell you what the handouts will be like until the faculty develop them. I think it is safe to say, however, that faculty will develop a large variety of qualtiy teaching tools and handouts will be one of the of them. Last edited by UMHS; 11-20-2007 at 08:38 AM. |

In the fifth semester, students will take two courses. One is Clinical Correlations/Clinical Medicine which will prepare the student for the third year of studies. The other is Biological Basis of Clinical Medicine/USMLE review. This latter course is a 10 credit hour integration of the basic medical sciences and preclinical sciences into a useful body of knowledge that prepares the student for the USMLE. The course will be taught by a combination of visiting faculty and UMHS faculty but will be conducted in the United States.
