I would hate to be at UAG right now or any foreign med school as the odds of beating out Ocare are looking slim. Just my opinion but states that refuse to implement it will have the fed set it up there anyway. Imagine $2.00 patient visits and all you can see for nothing. ERs are already paying on RVUs....meaning you get a slice of what you get for insurance into the ER. Translated...a little bit of nothing.
Is that a knife in your back or do your friends in Guad. just love you to death ?

"According to the NRMP, last year 971 graduates of U.S. medical schools were shut out, accounting for 5.9% of U.S. grads. Graduates of international medical schools fared even worse - less than 50% of them obtained a residency."

It makes me so mad to read that article and related articles. yeah, lets open 18 more medical schools in the US but leave the residency spots unchanged.

You can thank O for that. The moment I heard about O pushing expanded healthcare without addressing residency issues, I knew we were screwed. I don't understand how so many in the medical field didn't see it or chose to ignore it.

I think it may be a planned way to force the issue to be honest. If the system is "just fine" for now, expanding the med school spaces will make residency spots an emergency situation, and since most things in this world are reactive rather than proactive. . . .

I will be looking for free medical care due to my large student loans.
