Thread: Driving with GPS?

Has anybody used the GPS on their phone to get around? I have an android phone at home, in Arizona, and I use the google maps with the GPS all the time to get around. I'm asking to figure out if I can do the same in Guadalajara? Also, when driving down from the states, has anybody used their phone with GPS to make the trip, or has everyone just used paper maps? Or, have people used GPS units, like from Garmin or TomTom, to make their way around? One more question, does somebody have any idea as to which cell phone company provides the most coverage on highways nationwide (mexico) or in Guadalajara? I have had a Samsung Galaxy S2 on Telcel's "3G" network since last summer, and I use it to double-check my directions when I am going somewhere unfamiliar. It has only misled me once by not being entirely certain of the exact street number of a building, so I had to backtrack 3 blocks. Overall positive experience, but I only use the GPS about once every 5-6 weeks.

thanks for your reply Revelry, and that definitely helps. So it sounds like it works with Telcel in the city. Does anybody have any experience using their phone for GPS on the drive down from the states? What about another company besides Telcel? Thanks again for your responses.
