    Question Living suggestions/roommates for first year students

    Hey everyone,

    I am starting at UAG in the August 2012 term coming from North Carolina. I have been to Guadalajara once for my interview, so I don't know the area extremely well. I am just looking for some suggestions on what areas are best to live in that are safer, walking distance to ICB, have decent amenities, etc. After some research online and around here on value md, I have heard of Providencia.. so please feel free to share any ideas!

    I'm trying to get started early in hopes of making this transition a bit more smooth. Thanks a lot!

    Look close to the campus, rent will be higher, while your commute time will be lower.
    The closer you are, you will not need a car or a cab ($$$) to get to school every day.
    Cab prices continue to rise so living closer gets better.

    It is supposed to be safer near the school but a few confrontations have taken place recently in areas where students live since many others also like the better area near the school. There are better areas but they are not near ICB.

    I used to live in Providencia, up the hill behind the school and to the left close to the other schools.

    Let me help out the new student.



    How much is the rent for a room both with and without a restroom ?
    How much is parking?
    Is there parking on the street?
    Are the utilities and internet included in the rent ?

    6 blocks from ICB in what direction ? Six blocks uphill from the front of the school or behind the school (back entrance) ?


    6 - 9 students, that is a lot.
    Do all of the students in the UAG Medical program ?
    How do they share the kitchen ?
    Who cleans the place ?
    How many refrigs are there to keep ones food in ?
    Shared TV ?
    Any established rules ?

    Our house is about 1.9 km away from ICB and you can get easily walking in about 23 minutes according to Googlemaps. http : //goo.gl/ maps/bWWBB
