To whom it may concern,
I am a current student that has quietly read and followed this forum for more than three years. While trying to acclimate to Guadalajara you may find that there is a significant learning curve which is completely understandable. However it should be said that we are visitors in this country and a certain degree of respect and tolerance should be maintained. Things in Guadalajara function differently and it is our job as ambassadors and representatives of the USA to carry ourselves to a higher standard. This message is not intended for all students at UAG just the select few that seem to consistently insult/bash Mexico and fail to realize our aforementioned responsibilities. While in Mexico, it is expected that you speak the language rather than whine and complain every moment of the day.
On a side note when attending the library at ICB specifically the salon de lectura (ie. quiet study room) you should keep YOUR SHOES ON and avoid walking around the room with BARE FEET. First and foremost it is unsanitary second it is FOUL and third you are behaving like a quintessential "Gringo" described in the title. My apologies to anyone who may be offended but the repetitive lack of respect by fellow Americans is starting to make me sick.
THANKS,
JONES
