    Jr. High Records

I have a question that I can't seem to find an answer for. It says to be admitted that I need my 7th and 8th grade transcripts to be admitted. My Jr. High Shut down over a decade ago. This was a private school and the records are no where to be found. There is no way that I can get those records.

Is there a way that I can be accepted to this school without any Jr. High Records?

What options do I have since the records are gone for good?

I had a similar issue with my high school diploma. Mine was destroyed in my home during hurricane Katrina. When I called my high school, I found out that the school does not issue duplicate copies. UAG Admissions told me that it is possible for them to proceed without one official document, but they asked me to turn in a notarized letter in liu of the diploma. They had a template that they emailed to me. In my case, I was able to have the school fill out the template on official letterhead stating that they do not issue duplicates. I am sure they can work with you.

I was surprised to find that my final high school transcript contained a record of all my grades and courses from K-12. I never had to call my middle school. Maybe this will be the case with yours as well.

Yeah, usually you can get something instead. As Cheramie said, they'll ask for a letter in lieu and you can get that filled out. There's also the option of contacting your municipal (county?) school board and seeing what they tell you. There has to be a record _somewhere_, it's just a fun trip trying to find it.

Two years ago, I had the same problem. No one had my junior high transcripts, and that was the fact. What the school was doing at that time, was having you sign something that said you were gonna go through fifth pathway. The junior high records were just required to get the MD from the UAG (which at the time, was only available by the six year route). What has happened since then though, is that now the only options available are the five or six year MD routes, by through the UAG. So, I'm sure they have to make provisions for anyone already in the program that is missing the document. But, the bottom line is that this is just one of many details that they haven't sorted out and made clear yet since the changes. From what I've seen since being here though, they seem to be able to change whatever they want to change.

I'm glad to hear that they have a way around it. I went to a private school for 1-8th grade and they closed the school down about 12 years ago. I have been told that the records were moved to another school. That school only has certain records but not the ones that go back as far as I need. My records might be in some archive but no matter who I contact I still get no records. I would hope that UAG would have some type of exemption still in place.
