Besides, you can still do your 4th and 5th year in the US.

I think he means 4th semester. The admin tells you that you can do 4th year in the USA. However, I think there are only about 15 positions as of now (and it has been that way). Not everyone can do it, either.

I learned from the best to be a little sarcastic or maybe......realistic. Now, it seems kind of funny. A while ago was torture

yes, 4th semester and the "issues" with 6th year being done in the US AND getting a mexican diploma at the same time. See, mexico will issue you a mexican diploma with the condition of doing social service in Mexico; they dont really care if you are american. Since the diploma will be a mexican diploma, mexico wants you to do it in the country of origin which makes sense. The 4th and 6th year cookie yard is empty for most. The 5th year is the only viable option out there realistically speaking. Good luck

Sorry my friend but your information is incorrect. The "titulo"(diploma) has nothing to do with where Social Service is done just the "cedula" which is your right to practice medicine in Mexico as a gp. If a student wants the ability to practice in Mexico, he/she will have to do the social service in Mexico. The school may have only 15 spots for 4th year but if you are elegible you can set up the rotations by going to med schools websites and applying. Most med schools have exchange programs. If you pass step1, you shouldn't have any problems setting it up. In the past 30+ students used to leave for US rotations but the majority preferred to do them in MX(pre-internado).

by the way, I heard that there will a meeting tomorrow at the school. Some san antonio officials will be talking to the students. Is this correct? hopefully the information will be concrete y no el "haber que pasa" futuristic approach.
