do i go there
By your posts u do not seem to take up personal attacks like the other poster who always claims I do not know anything about the school since I am not a student there. I have a friend in acg semester and another who happens to be at NYMC, I also was admitted along with my BF for the 2008 Jan class. I do know many of the prof have not even seen the USMLE,according to many posts on here from reputable members in addition to info from my friends, yes, I do know what I am talking about, please stick to the subject matter and not me personally.

i remember many online threads before the AMA crisis took place, one of them in particular was DR M, who teaches anatomy, throwing a shelf exam at the current second semester class, just realize how much better the class would have done if he not only informed the class from the beg of the semester he was going to do this, but geared his lectures to the exam itself, teaching the rel material

kap
In regards to the kap class, was in not micromanaged or (mismanaged) by UAG, who knows how different an independent kap course will be, the same friend in question is going to retake the USMLE and this time use an independent kap course. During the course students were req to take some type of clinical cert in esp and this would take up at least two days considering the lack of communication. How do I know this, when my BF was in Guad last May for his interview, he stayed with my friend, they went to these clinics and spent a few days waiting around for this to happen, all the while this individual could have been studying for the USMLE

Dr. M gives the books that are requiered to pass all his exams. shelf or otherwise.
Your friend obviously was not ready for medical school where inclass lecture is the begining and not the end of learning. As far as the USMLE any student who isn't alway studying for the USMLE. Whether on the toilet, waiting at a clinic for a patient to show, or falling asleep at night, is shorting himself. It was not that he did not have time to study. It was just that he either dod not prepare in advance for his clinicals or did not really care to study at that time.

im in second semester and have never seen Dr. M give is a shelf. maybe for segundos, but i've never been there. Most students will use a USMLE prep book along with their big text whenever studying for a class. slackers will only study the review books, but there is no reason to say that UAG is so out of place when it comes to USMLE prep. the more important courses that ive taken like biochem and physiology had a great amount of clinical vignettes. phys dr and i have had conversations about the usmle. old school dr m. might make up some interesting exam questions, but the brs is pounded in his lectures. the only class that i can seriously say has been really out there is genetics.
hexo claims to have done well on the practice kaplan exams, despite the fact that he was kicked out partly b/c of this class. maybe he can tell us how to study.

Hexokinase, Cervantes wrote a book about a guy who attacked things that didn't exist. I think they put him in an asylum. Either way it didn't go well for the man.

kasha, u say my friend this my friend that, my BF mom's uncle at NY this...bla bla bla...it means nothing. your friends are probably slackers that are mad.
prospective students should take in more "objective" first hand accounts, or at least first hand from students that post pros and those that post cons. read hexo's complaints about school politics ' acgt pros and cons on the academics dont read conspiracy theories on how uag wants us all to fail the usmle to stay here and give them more money. you fail yourself. uag could make life easier for us, but thats not how it is. the books are your primary teacher, learn from them.
