scott from another thread posted this interesting info:

135 - 2002

whats going on with UAG? why are their match numbers going down? are they having smaller class sizes for whatever reason or are they having dismal match rates the past few years?
this is pretty alarming to anyone considering uag. does anyone know the reason for the declining match stats?

Between 1999-2003, the school was graduating 200+ students. I think the number of the admissions are not the same that used to be(300-400) and the number of students accepting pre matches or signing up the post match will also be high.

so how many people are graduating each year now, on average? this is the important question i think, especially realizing that there are many transfers and such....

This is a junk statistic.

There are too many variables.

Changes in the test from ECFMG to all students taking CS test.

Changes in Puerto Rico from accepting Revalida alone to only accepting USMLE.

More students being taken outside of match because a lack of U.S. Grads.

It is insane to even compare these numbers.

answer

It's called USMLE 1 and 2. Many puertorricans are not passing the tests or they have so many difficulties to passing them that they take only the first and second parts of the Reválida and work as general doctors in PR or some states. Somes states are accepting la Reválida of Puerto Rico if you want to work as a general doctor. Examples: Florida and Washington D.C.

actually, its the foreign-foreign grads taking up spots.
I'm currently a resident and at my hospital and they said there was a massive increase in applications from foreign grads as compared to US students attending carribean/other schools.
