The UAG is Alive and well.

The school that we came to is still running classes. They are still giving and grading tests. They are not only preparing for the long term goals of the school but are also looking for ways to help any students inconvenienced by 5th pathway closures.

Do they have concrete answers? No!
Would you have anything to say that had a better story than "we are working on it."

They must lobby the mexican government. Their board of reagents, the 5th pathway programs, the AMA, ECFMG, AGCME, NBME, Congress, and the state of New York Board of reagents. All have a part to play that could change things back the way they were.

NO classes were cut from the schedule. Kaplan is here as it always has been. Our tuition checks arrived and were dispersed in a fashion that we have become used to. All other classes on SEU are beinging given as normal.

This is not the scene that belies a beurocracy ready to crumble. This is the look of a beurocracy that has hit a snag and is planning to reverse it or work around it.

Medicodreamer, on this thread UAG is the question. It is alive and well. As far as the 5th pathway programs they are still open today. 5th pathway program at NYMC has been talking about staying open for the forseable future. It will be a great place to spend a year of internship.

This thread is about what is alive and well. There are enough threads that speak about 5th pathway to licensure.

The doors are still open and UAG is happily accepting applications. They are also still looking out for ways to complete our internship and social service year.

Why would anyone in their right mind take the risk to stay there? Until the matters are resolved, one would be wise to find their medical education elsewhere.

I know you're trying to stay optimistic, but a realist approach to medical education is most appropriate in this situation

In my (right) mind, the benefits of attending UAG may outweigh the risks, so I have applied.

some students just have no other options but to stay here. Some have failed classes so nobody would take them including caribbean and much less the US. Most students leaving are 1st and 2nd semester non-failing-good-chance-to-get-in caribbean school students. Anybody from 3rd semester on might stay or transfer but they are pretty much into debt that just leaving is not an option.
