Quiet yes, dead no. Remember, it's a 4-day weekend for us. So many will be dispersed between the beaches, bars, and beds of Mexico.
Yes, the school is alive and well. This is for sure. And the professors are still the same. Dr. Lozanno was at a first semester party two nights ago. We still get the same tests, some semesters get hammered more than others, a reason elections for president, at least in 1st semester should be held off for a few weeks. Chose wisely, it means the difference between Dr. Maltez loving or hating your class. Oddly enough though, Dra. Angeles loves us, which is more than I can say for the current 3rd semester class.
The wake of people fleeing the school though it has made apartment/house/furnishing hunting a lot easier. So that is definately an advantage for some.
Yes, some of us may be fools in the eyes of some for staying. But I myself wish to become a Doctor, and a little hardship will only make me stronger and better able to deal with the CRAP the US will inflict on us once we are there. I have chosen to ride the storm, at least until I have taken my Step 1, then we'll see where we are. After you've dealt with Mexican politics, US politics should be childsplay.
