This is not a new route, it has been in existence for many years but it was not advertised because the purpose of the International program was to send student back to the US through the 5th Pathway or get the clinical experience by staying in Mexico.
The last time the Mexican government were not allowing students to complete through this route was over a decade ago when students from the UNAM went on strike. This is not a fact it was something that I heard while doing pre-internado from the latino students. This is a goverment policy and changes according to who is the president. I know at least a dozen of students that have done 5th or 6th year in the US or both. The best way to get the correct information is by asking the Mexican Governement directly.

But what will you post about, posting ?

====================================

How about posting information about questions most liketly to appear on examinations and answers for the questions.

It is not ethical to post the real question , but maybe something to get others thinking.

When one is in overload mode, one can easly be overwhelmed and start messing up on everything. Almost like being a zombie , with glazed over eyes while not intoxicated.

It is not the count it is the context.

Has anyone ever transferred from the International program to the national program after having completed their basic science and passed Step #1 ?
At that time one does not have to associate with the younger croud of national students.

Is that not the point when everything is supposed to changed over to 100% spanish anyway.

I am only thinking, that if one has to do the same number of years as the nation program (6), why not transfer to their ranks and save some money. Then take Step #2 on ones own.

This option it it can be done, may only be open to dual US/Mex nationals, and some students are in this group.

The reason not to go national in the first place was usually 6 years, student loans, classes 100% in spanish, plus step #1 and #2, plus the age of the national students being right out of high school.

Yes, several have transfered but they are all Puerto Rican. I believe they check for complete fluency before they will allow you to transfer.

We have students who have citizenship in both Mexico and the US but they have not tried to switch.

As far as questions to exams. There are so many old exams floating around you could go cross eyed just looking at them. All classes except physiology.

Some Puerto Ricans transferred because of the language problem in the international program. They still paid the same tuition as originally paid in the international program. Not logical, but not all here is.

Yes the language problem can be trying for Puerto Ricans sometimes, as the professors don't speak English with a Mexican accent and Spanish mixed with English.

I have turned to many a Peurto Rican during a lecture and asked what the professor said and they look at me like, "was he speaking spanish that time."

Americans have it easy if you develope an ear for accents while in undergrad. We all have had many a professor or TA in the states with a thick Russian/German/Mandarin/Indian accent. You just get used to listening for ques in what they say.

There is still the 6 year option though right? I just had an interview on friday and I didn't get too discouraged by her explanation of the situation. If I want both a mexican and US license I have to do the 6 year pathway anyways so that I can do the social service. I can still get a US license though right?

Yes, it is just a slightly longer process.

Durlinga, I am not sure that the MD from the board of reagents in New York is still on the table. That has yet to be seen. That was tied to 5th pathway.
