Ama Meeting

AMA Meeting
Bellow you will find what the website savefifthpathway.com published on the subject.

"Overall the meeting went very well. No set conclusions were made but all the suggestions made by both the school and the AMA were very positive. The AMA did state that this decision was not based on anything UAG did and on the contrary they have a good relationship with our school but rather it was the other feeder schools into the fifth pathway program. Please believe that the AMA heard the students plea loud and clear and they were moved enough to start helping us. Both the AMA and UAG are going to be working diligently together in the next few months to try and get different options to work but as for now nothing is set in stone. A transcript of the meeting will be provided that contains all the details of the meeting as soon as it is approved by the school administration. Check back here soon".

At least someone posted something. This group supposed to be independent from the school. This issue isn't going to be resolved in 2 weeks. Patience is a virtue you learn while in Mexico so expect the worst and hope for the best.

The bad with the good

Everyone would like to hear something from the UAG about this. People need to make decisions, and need information to make decisions. Thus, in the lack of information, many students are assuming the worst -- that the school is just stalling time to impede transfers. Obviously, no one knows if this is truse except the school. However, given the schools past actions, no one would be surprised if this was true. In this way, the schools lack of communication is only hurting itself.

It is, however, possible that something more proactive is in the works. If so, why it has not been communicated is a good question, other than to say that the UAG is terrible at communication, in general. Thus, the fact is, we really do not know what is happening, good or bad, and this is very disturbing to most students.

However, the opportunity to learn medicine here still prevails, the school is still functioning "normally," and we still have opportunities to learn, do and see things that we could not in the USA. We can take counter actions later against whom we need. However, for now I just plan to finish what I started here, and somehow I will.

at least we know now that the AMA wont change their position. What are the immediate solutions for us current students? a change of program to 4 years will not include us, this was clear from the meeting we had with the school and NASA officers. Are there going to be any changes for 5th and 6th year? maybe do them in the US?. It might still be attractive due to lack of ANY other solution except do 6 years. The UAG administration and NASA officer need to step up their game and inform us of options available if any. Good luck

options

NOT TRYING TO BE -, but according to my spies(oo-7 brazil) the meeting did not go well, at least that whats the NY dean and the 5th pathway head at NYMC were discussing in the breakroom at the school. Now, what are the options, transfer(not to ROss, they are having issues with their clins, maybe 400 plus students a semester is a bad idea, 6 yr prog, law-s if true could amount to something although could take while, leanos changing mex law, and last but not least, possibilty of another org taking up FPP

I am a man who only believes in black and white (paper and ink or reports on ama's official website).

Black and what is nice, but when not offered, we have to take what we can get... Unfortunately, we have to filter and analize a lot of mierda before we have a good picture.

tels

Everyone could try to have a communication with one of the deans, but I guess that they will not tell you the truth until they make an official announcement. NASA should do something for us. They could arrange a meeting between all the students and the deans.
