I've been reading all of this for a while but not saying anything until now. You people can debate what did or didn't go on in the meeting all day long, pore over the transcript, WHATEVER -- it's all irrelevant. The FSMB has already declared that a 5PW certificate will NOT be accepted to take Step 3 after a certain date (currently proposed: Dec 2009). Whatever the fate of the Fifth Pathway program or what the ACGME decides to do with it, what difference does it make if, upon trying to apply/secure your license, you find out that you have NO OPTION to take Step 3?

Please explain to me how this is not a "GAME OVER" situation?

I've reminded everyone all along that the problems that the AMA had came down from the FSMB/NBME, and that's why UAG wasn't even on the radar (and also why it wouldn't matter what UAG did or didn't do despite the pompous "press releases" of our administration). In order to be a physician EVERYTHING has to be "green light" on the Road to Licensure. What difference does it make about arguing about a yellow light in front of you when a huge crater just opened up a mile down the road?

Today we had our class president talking about the march 16th meeting between UAG and AMA. No school official was present. Dont really know if this is the way UAG dissipates information but if this was the only way to do it in such an important issue, I am bvery disappointed. Hopefully I am wrong and they will show and explain everything in a more "formal" way than just sending the class president to calm down the rumor mills. One thing that was cleared up was the fact that no more 5th pathway. It is a done deal and the AMA finally made the UAG understand, the infamous Duran's words "no mas". One thing that I was surprised to hear is that the NASA and UAG are insisting in the Grandfathering clause based on some "illegal" moves from the AMA. This will take time and we need immediate solutions. Waiting for a miracle isnt scientific. Good luck

hunmmm, I guess my rumors are not all **, considering some class reps are discussing legal issues, please explain what the pres said about this, If there is a law-s out, I do not think UAG will discuss it unless it results in something tangible, however, at least the rumor of another org picking up the FPP were the AMA left off has been put to rest

right now you should not believe what anyone says unless you see something that is written in black and white.

I don't understand how you know with such a certainty about all these issues.

she tends to do it a lot. She has friends all over the place infiltrated in the AMA and they hear conversations in the lunch room between to executives of the AMA!. Seems to be very interested in the school even though she was a prospective student that decided to withdraw her application. Overall, she mean good I hope
