OK, somone please stop me.
Greenheart Medical University - Guyana the only English-speaking country in South America. The cost of living for students is the lowest of any place in Canada, Ireland, the UK, the U.S.A. or Caribbean. The most students pay for food and lodging in Guyana is USD $ 200/month. Sounds like a good choice if all you are going for is cheap living. Don't drink the Kool Aid. Honestly, I never thought of going to the Carribean. It is obvious where my heart lies. It is not green. You must check out the other schools spoken of in the title of the post. ROSS and SGU.

And, of course, these are three of the top four languages spoken in the World. Chinese is by far, the most spoken language in the World. Then, English, Hindi, and Spanish are basically tied for second-fourth most spoken language (These three out-distance the fifth most spoken language by almost double).
So, something to keep in mind is that no one knows for sure where they will practice at every step of their career. Some may be planning to practice outside of the U.S. at some point, for profit or non-profit. So, the highest payoff for becoming bilingual in the U.S. is easily English-Spanish. Any other language that someone would go out and learn doesn't seem worth one's time until they have acquired fluency in these two. When just speaking in terms of keeping world-wide options open, the choice is obvious. Quote:

I thought I answered this question before therefore do some search in this forum if you are so concerned. Unfortunetely the UAG don't have the marketing department the Carrib schools have when comes to recruting students and don't have the appeal of just spending only 2 years out of the country. I can guarantee if the program tomorrow changes to a 4 year program with 1 year of rotations in the US and 1 year in Mexico, you will see 300 students per class once again.

if you are planning on practicing in the US, hands down a US school.
and uagdoc, go back through my posts, i have always said that going to a foreign med school is a LAST resort..not the 1st (oe even the 2nd or 3rd...) one should EXHAUST any and ALL options in the US, even if that means taking an extra year or two to do so...
