I am seriously opposed to anectdotal evidence. I hope you are not refering to my quoting an artical from one of the most prestigious medical journals in the world. Those were someone elses anecdotes.

Two of my three mothers have had radical mastectomies but I never bring that up when arguing chemotherapy.

Help rosalin.

I will be here and we can argue later.

OK, somone please stop me.

Greenheart Medical University - Guyana the only English-speaking country in South America. The cost of living for students is the lowest of any place in Canada, Ireland, the UK, the U.S.A. or Caribbean. The most students pay for food and lodging in Guyana is USD $ 200/month.

Sounds like a good choice if all you are going for is cheap living. Don't drink the Kool Aid.

Honestly, I never thought of going to the Carribean. It is obvious where my heart lies. It is not green.

You must check out the other schools spoken of in the title of the post. ROSS and SGU.

And, of course, these are three of the top four languages spoken in the World. Chinese is by far, the most spoken language in the World. Then, English, Hindi, and Spanish are basically tied for second-fourth most spoken language (These three out-distance the fifth most spoken language by almost double).

So, something to keep in mind is that no one knows for sure where they will practice at every step of their career. Some may be planning to practice outside of the U.S. at some point, for profit or non-profit. So, the highest payoff for becoming bilingual in the U.S. is easily English-Spanish. Any other language that someone would go out and learn doesn't seem worth one's time until they have acquired fluency in these two. When just speaking in terms of keeping world-wide options open, the choice is obvious.

US 12% Spanish
US 0.77% Chinese

Learning the first two covers 92% of the population.

I thought I answered this question before therefore do some search in this forum if you are so concerned. Unfortunetely the UAG don't have the marketing department the Carrib schools have when comes to recruting students and don't have the appeal of just spending only 2 years out of the country. I can guarantee if the program tomorrow changes to a 4 year program with 1 year of rotations in the US and 1 year in Mexico, you will see 300 students per class once again.

flushing maybe small, but the population is large, so its not representative of say only 15 people (which by your emphasis of 1 sq mile, makes that seem)...

and I speak the major language...english (so by your reckoning, i'm good!).

and since i'm going to georgia, i'm good, cuz i speak southern!

on a serious note though...are you really?slogging it out down there? you have pointedly avoided answering some questions that have been recently put to this forum...scott pointed out that, by UAGs own stats, there has been a consistant decline in the number of residency spots secured by UAG grads in the US? why is that?? Or are you gonna tell me that the class size has so decreased in the last few years that 41 represents a majority of the graduating class? or that what? 80% of your graduating class prematches (since the nrmp match is easily disclosed if UAG purchases the match list- like practically every offshore school does these days). So either UAG is experiencing an exponetially decrease in enrollment or UAG grads are simply no longer as competitive a residency applicant...

if you are planning on practicing in the US, hands down a US school.

and uagdoc, go back through my posts, i have always said that going to a foreign med school is a LAST resort..not the 1st (oe even the 2nd or 3rd...) one should EXHAUST any and ALL options in the US, even if that means taking an extra year or two to do so...

i agree with this comment as well. exhaust all options before foreign becomes a consideration
