Thanks for setting the record straight. I don 't get paid by the school to be their spokesperson. I am here to help students and keep the site from getting out of control I think you guys down in Guad know more than me about what is going on. I was trying to get some info from ECFMG and ACGME with no success.

I agree, it must be very frustrating to be in Guad. without any concrete answers but my advice would be to concentrate in the USMLE. If you pass step 1 before 5th semester transferring out can be an option but to transfer to another school without the USMLE can be dangerous. A lateral transfer can be a problem specially if your new school only gives a limit amount of time to pass the USMLE. They may also make you repeat some classes. I think spending 2 years in Guad until something come out of this mess may not be a bad deal specially if you kick butt on step 1.

People has transferred before and they will continue to transfer years to come. The school knows it will always happen. There is the right way and the wrong way of doing things. venting out our fustrations in a blog is definetely the wrong way of doing things. Never write comments in blogs when you are frustrated because it never comes out the right way. The medical community is very political all over the world and you have to be able to maneuver your way around to get what you want. Study hard pass your boards and you will be very successful. Don't think for 1 minute that stuff like this doesn't happen in the US. I was trying to consolidate my private loans away from Salliemae and was told by an account manager that they will not give any information of my loans to Citibank because my loans belongs to them and they don't have to sell the loan to Citibank if they don't want to. Unless I could write a check for the balance of the loan they were not going to help me. If you are getting private loans make sure sallie Mae isn't the servicer. Federal loans you can consolidate with whoever you want.

you probably did not understand the sarcasm
what he basically predicted was that ama would not change its position after the march 16th meeting and uag would probably experience land-slid reduction of applicants for its (most likely americans, what is the pt of doing 6 years when you can get it done in 4 and start making money 2 years early) international program. In usual business sense, when uag starts to lose future customers, it will usually treat its current customers (current students: better chairs or better teacher) little better or it will try to copy other models of success (caribbean schools). I do not know what will develop from this point on. Personally, I become very sarcastic when I know I am in a situation that there is nothing I can do.

There is something you can do; Learn your basic sciences and get a good score in the USMLE. Worst would be if the school had closed and taken your money with them. Being frustrated with this situation will take time away from studying and putting all your energy in what you went down there for, study medicine.
