yes, I am coming on the 7th. Even if it means two more years in mexico, I will still join uag because I have a strong interest in becoming a doctor. Is there anyone in here looking for a room mate?

This sucks for me. I guess I could do the 6 year plan,in which by the time I get my MD I will be 42 yikes! but if I opted for the Caribbean in 6 years I would have only one more year of residency left. One advantage of Caribbean is that you already do your clinicals in the US and that helps with residency as oppose to applying after 6 years in Mexico. ( I think)
Well Im going to have to think long and hard if I will matriculate by August 2008. |

best suggestion is finish basic science and jump ship to caribbeans because that will at least save us one year. The thing about student loans is that school can not start taking any money till students start registering for classes.

the biggest question
we should all ask ourselves is that is the one extra year going to make that much of difference in our lifes. However if you guys start to compare uag's 6 years to caribbeans' 4 years, then caribbean becomes the best choice because we can save two years by attending caribbean and those two years can be use for residency.

Hold the Phone...
I have been speaking to several colleagues (
Apparently this strictly has to do with the AMA no longer being involved with the 5th Pathway, as in records and validation of information for education credentials. Some parts of the document are rather vague and potentially misleading, but reading closely, it strictly states it will no longer maintain records for the 5th Pathway, which means each school will need to verify its incoming student's education credentials. From what I understand, the AMA has nothing to do with the 5th Pathway, except for records. There are still some parts in the document that I don't understand, and I will seek further information for a better understanding. This comes at a time when everyone is on vacation and the campus is closed, and perhaps UAG doesn't need to comment because perhaps there is nothing to comment on...it's not like we would be the only ones to lose out here. If the 5th Pathway "closed", they stand to lose a bundle. Let's sit tight and let me see what I can find out from the school and 5th Pathway. |
