the major problem is that the extra two years of service is a judicial requirement by the local government.

If UAG wants to keep their international program, which is bringing in millions of dollars every year to the local economy, they will need to use their clout to get some special ruling.

Well, I don't think that this ruling will affect the 5th Pathway schools. All they would need to do to offset any loss of students is to adjust their enrollment of students in their medical schools.

Did I misread it or does it seem like anything after 2009 is not counting anymore? That is, anyone who does not enter the 5th pathway year before 2009 is screwed. That means anyone who started term I after Jan 2005.

Did I grossly misread this?

The resource looks very legit and uag is not making any official responses to it. Basically, I can assume that any future norteamericano students are probably going to caribbeans than uag.

No you did not misread it. Anyone who is not at the hospital now is screwed, assuming that the 3 schools continue to have the 5th Pathway. This does not mean that the 3 schools won't discontinue it immediately. I have heard that a recent interviewee from UAG asked in her interview at NYMC for the status of the program and they told her that it would be discontinued this summer, which is a year sooner than the AMA's discontinuation.
