Gastro in 5th
Okay, I had posted somewhere that the first day of class was not a positive impression. Add to that the fact that there are many stories about how difficult this class is, how mean the teachers are, etc., and you can see how this class can get a bad reputation. Is is a bad class? No.
"The Inca" seems to like to scare students on the first day (and some days afterwards). I am not sure why, but it makes people not like her, or give her a chance to be liked and respected. The "Hefe" has a first impression of being rather stern. Another major teacher also has rather intimidating qualities.
However, after finishing this class, and being cornered in a small room with each of these teachers for hours at a time, I have to say that they can be very intimidating if you have a weak or passive personality. They also are not very tolerant of stupidity or someone that does not want learn. Nevertheless, if you are there to learn, you can actually love each one of them. They enjoy teaching (as do all the doctors I have met at the hospital) and there is no limit to what you can learn from them.
It would be a better class without the intimidation factor, but all these teachers have much to offer. Pay attention to what they give you for the class; if they say something or put info in the CD you will get, pay attention to all of it (it is not there for filling space). It will likely be in the test. This is not an easy class, and there is more than normal stress in it, but relax and learn. Believe it or not, this can be a fun class if you make the best of it.
