Passing Embryo
I think a lot of people stepped up their game for the final and that was why it was not perceived "as difficult". I did particularly because I wanted to avoid the segundo for many reasons, but it was a tough exam no matter what. Still, after all of the hours, he concentrated mostly on nervous system and pharyngeal arches. It was a lot of material that could be easily confused once you looked at the questions under pressure.
There were many people who didn't have a snowball's chance of passing even if they sat for the final because their midterm score was too low. Then again, I myself don't even understand the scoring of this class. Thank g*d I passed and actually did well. Kudos to those who passed as well and onward and upward to those who will be sitting for the segundo. |

Embryo final
Mean 6.361111111 Standard Error 0.100205837 Median 6 Mode 5 Standard Deviation 1.344402378 Sample Variance 1.807417753 Kurtosis -0.458264932 Skewness 0.683614734 Range 5 Minimum 5 Maximum 10 Sum 1145 Count 180 Pass 114 % pass 63.33% Greater than 8 38 % greater than 8 21% Number of non 018 student numbers 32 ![]() While this may look fairly distributed, it's fairly distributed around 5. The mean is not reliable AT ALL because we have anything under a five equal to five, so our distribution is artifically skewed upwards. Really, the numbers are worse than they seem because of that. There's also been several reports from students that received an incorrect mark, and there's some questions into whether the class marks were curved only for the top ?% of the class, as students in the top state that having looked at all marks there's no way they would've gotten a 9 or 10. |

Your graph is nice, but your formula lacks important embryo stablizing factors such as wing of bat and tail of newt. That will compensate for any errors and curving in that class.

Ahh, they probably skipped the final, and are going straight to the Segundo. I think a lot of people were confused as to how the grades were going to be calculated for the Embryo course. (even though rumor was that your midterm grade wouldn't be factored in, if you did better on the final) So, if they had a real bad grade on the midterm, nobody was too certain on how it would get worked into their final grade. So, rather than taking a chance, they are probably just gonna take the Segundo to start over again. I couldn't imagine 30 people or, even 20 people throwing away more than $11,000 already!

Well, some have a nice mommy and daddy (statistically, much more so the female students) that do not have loans. It was not their money they threw away. However, those on loans should make the choice now. $11,000 is much better than $350,000 after taking, and failing, the USMLE 37 times
