510 points Normal during spring break or "semana santa". Most student are enjoying their vacations and they have a 2 week vacation 1-15 of april so expected to be slow during this particular time. This is why you dont see any current students posting. By the way, I am going next week to find an apartment.![]()
510 points I will post with a better understanding of the housing situation on friday which is the day that I come back from Guadalajara. I will be looking at some places in providencia and some close to the hospital. I would prefer close to school but not a problem if I can get a good deal and is far since I am going to have a car. I am leaving tuesday and come back friday.![]()
510 points hi, question about UAG admissions,
does anyone know if one can interview now for
UAG's next upcoming class and find out pretty soon-
like in two weeks if one is in?
I have some other possible schools lined up but
would like to know if I can go there
before making a definite decision..
thanks,

513 points Cabrillo is correct-- we are all on Spring Break right now. Also, we average an exam a week here, at least in first semester, so its often hard to keep tabs on this forum when the pressure is on!
And, a note about apartments!!! Be careful who you lease from-- the school has a list of "trusted" landlords- mine is on that list and I haven't had any problem. Too close to the school and you will pay a lot more for your apt. Also-- people may be watching you and know that you are a student and will have things like laptops, digital cameras, ipods, etc. which carry a huge price tag here and theives love to nab them!
There are students in my class that were robbed and also had problems with their landlords-- be wary of people who ask for every document in your life to sign a lease! Follow your sixth sense-- if you think something is fishy-- listen to that feeling. Also, it is a good idea to run by the International Student Affairs Office and check with the public relations desk (they handle the list of trusted landlords) to make sure that the landlord you are renting from isn't on their "Problems" list. Because they do have a list of people that students have had problems with in the past (and this semester!)
Overall-- be wary-- you are out of your country and pressured to find an apt. the Landlords all know this and will try to take advantage of it. This isn't that much different than in the US-- it's just that because you are a foreigner here-- you have to be extra careful-- because you don't really know how the law works here necessarily-- and that is VERY problematic if things go wrong. (and its better to always be cautious)
