Universidad Xochicalco
I attend the Ensenada Campus, but next semester I will be transfering to Tijuana. The Tijuana campus is nice. I chose Ensenada because I came with my 2 children and Ensenada is a better place to have children.
The education and books her are in spanish. The teachers will not try to talk to you in english, and in general they will expect you to respond to them in spanish. They understand when you are learning and they will be patient with you and understanding. You can purchase most of the same or similar books in english at borders or amazon.com I knew no spanish when I arrived, and I am just in the early stages of learning. It is my second semester here. I write all the notes down in spanish and then study in my english books. It hasn't been too bad, but definately challenging, and at times frustrating. I like the instructors, they are very smart, patient and willing to teach. I also sent you a PM. Let me know if you have other questions.

If you are looking for a medical school in Mexico, Xochicalco Medical School is a good choice. The anually tuition is 10,000 dollars; althouth classes are in spanish, if yours to decide if you want to buy your books in english (recomended) or spanish. As any other medical school, the fist two years are for basics and the last two for clinical classes. During the first two years you going to attend once a week to social service or comunnity service, which is a great experience. The best thing about studying down in Xochicalo is that you have the oportunity to go to hospitals since the start, something you wont find else where... Well I hope you can take a wise desision!

Wanted to PM you guys but I can't since I don't have any posts.
I've been trying to do some research on the school, but I can't find a few things. One of them is the pre-requesites. I read somewhere it said bachillerato (high school). Are there any specific classes (ie. ochem, physics, anatomy, etc) and also are MCATs optional or required? |

I would suspect that the prerequisites would be a ditto of what you need to get back into America as a post graduate medical graduate.
Remeber it isn't what you need to get into medical school, it is what you need to get out. Follow the pre-med requirements for your university.

Does this school prepare one or pretend to prepare one for the USMLE ?
How about any other examinations or paper work so you can work in the US ? Is the medical school a undergraduate program equal to a ** then two additional years ?
