    Spanish classes

Does the school provide for language classes? I have had 2 years of HSchool Spanish and 2 years at the college level. I am applying for January 2007, I think if I work as an RN in a community setting or even mission setting I would acquite fluent conversational ability quicker?

    Anybody for a suggestion?

How difficult is it to get a work visa? Or, would it be better to be a "missionary-type" volunteer?

Crazy question perhaps but a worthwhile concern to facilitate assimilation into the culture and becoming a latino.

Corny perhaps but genuine and from the heart.

If I lived in Gudalajara for 6 months, I will learn by necessity. Think so?

Seems to logical to tax the supra tentorial areas of the brain.

    Thanks anyway.

    thanks

They offer a class of Spanish, even several levels. It is even a very good class. However, it is not at a time and place that is good for students at ICB (where you will be). Is is possible to take if you are determined enough to go. It will cost you $140 for the class.

Legally, you cannot be a student and work. However, they are not that strict. For what you would make, just do it for free.

Spanish will grow on you, but it takes time.

How do you plan to become a Latino if you are not already one? Are you going to visit Michael Jackson's doctor and do a race change?

    thanks for the advice

yes, my foot was in my mouth. I cannot become a latino.
When I was living in Santa Barbara I had jet black hair and all of my friends "adopted" me and referred to me as "cousin".

Point: When in a foreign country; do not remain a foreigner.

    Thanks for your help.

    Sincerely,

    Phil

xzystnc, when in a foriegn country it is very good to be a foreigner.

If you are a foreigner in almost any foreign country, including france, people will be kind and try to help you. IFF you are polite and try in a very minimal way to speak the language.

A simple, Ne how mah? or Domo origato, will go very far. Even in France.

True. Regardless of what you may hear, Mexicans, in general, are very friendly to Americans (at least as much or more than they are to each other).
