    Automobiles

Is a car absolutely necessary while attending UAG?
What kind of car is recommended for a "Poor student"?

    Is insurance necessary?

I have begun the application process to UAG for January 2007; if I can get in sooner then take the mcat that would be great. I will visit the campus and have always wanted to visit Mexico. I am looking forward to the visit to the campus.

Thank you for all your input and suggestions. I appreciate your help very much and hope that I can call on you.

I'll more seemingly trite questions but I'll save them till I visit the campus in late May.

    Thank you all.

    Car, ins, stuff

There are many students who attend UAG without a car.

I know, because I drive them all over the place.

Many people get cars while they are here. You can get a car from one of the leaving class members. These may not be the best deal as they get back most of the money they spend on a car. It would be better to get a car on the economy and then sell it when you leave for as musch as you spend.

Many people go home to get a car from texas and drive it back. This is good but you have to have all your paper work in order before you can apply for importation papers.

Yes you will need to get insurance and keep $20 in your pocket for the rare times when you get pulled over. You can pay a mordita and drive away from a stop. It is not corruption, it is a 400 year old tradition instituted by the Spanish crown who did not pay the people who controlled their colony well forcing them to extract more money and not report it.
