Any Unibe grads working in California?

i know what ALL of YOU are THINKING... Unibe grads can't...

but there are a lot of rumors, for example if you work for the military or the government for a certain amount of years you can somehow get a license.

at the least by posting this i hope to achieve nothing more then to see others who r familiar with these rumors.

another rumor; if you pass your boards, work in another state for x amount of years and then apply for california license going thru a litigation process then the ca board considers the case individually.

i ve asked the medical board of california and they have said No that there are no such loopholes. IS the ca med board the only one with the last word?

i would love to get a Yes!.

Honestly, i d be surprised, not very surprised but surprised to get a YES.
who knows when unibe will apply for a license, and if they do, will it be retroactive?

I urged you to enroll in a California-recognized medical school and stop searching for non-existent loopholes. You disregarded my advice and enrolled in UNIBE. Consequently, you're not eligible to train in or become licensed in California because of your own poor judgement and UNIBE's continued defiance in enrolling Californians and California-interested persons while remaining an unrecognized school. I'd appreciate it if you would stop agitating other ineligible people with rumors of loopholes. If anyone wants to train in or become licensed in California, it's a simple matter to enroll in California-recognized medical schools. There are about 1,000 California-recognized schools around the world.
    Ms Park,

Under the "Freedom of Information Act" would you be kind enough to post the list (public information) of CA licensed graduates of disapproved/unapproved medical schools.

If I understand correctly those grads have been licensed for many years already with many obtaining licensure AFTER the school(s) was/were disapproved. Since CA would naturally be worried about the competency and danger posed by those doctors to the citizens of CA what action(s) has CA undertaken to revoke their licenses? Has CA monitored them for rates of malpractice claims, disciplinary actions, etc? If so how do their statistics compare with non disapproved schools grads?

Since as one example, UNIBE graduates can obtain licensure in other states such as New York, do you think California patients are more complex and difficult to treat medically and require more physician competency than say patients in other states?

    Thank you.

I don't think Ms. Park will be returning to Value MD anytime soon, lol.

But I don't think that's the issue here. It's about the money. I don't know how much exactly, but I do know it takes a susbtantial amount of money to apply for the California license; otherwise, UNIBE would have applied long ago.

I think there is no question that if UNIBE ever wants to contend with the big dogs in the Caribbean such as Ross and St Georges, they would be wise to invest in getting California approved.

California approval would raise the school's credibility allowing them to raise tuition from the $4500 they charge now which is a bargain in comparison to other schools. Isn't that what it's all about anyway?

All joking aside, the FOIA (freedom of information act) is enacted in law and is something not to be taken lightly, especially by a state official.

It would not bode well, in my opinion, for a state official to evade addressing such valid and legal points.

Thumbs up Clarification with regards to Tennessee

    >the following states DO NOT recognize Unibe graduates:
    >1. ALASKA
    >2. CALIFORNIA
    >3. DELAWARE
    >4. IDAHO
    >5. MAINE
    >6. NEW HAMPSHIRE
    >7. VERMONT
    >8. TENNESSEE ???

    Dr. H,
Please allow me to make a clarification. I believe that your list may be incorrect with regards to Tennessee, because I PERSONALLY know of 2 UNIBE grads who obtained Tennessee licenses. A.K. and E.M. I have even verified their licenses on the Tennessee State Medical Board's Website.
Also, what happened to New Mexico?? Weren't they mirroring California's laws, and as a result UNIBE grads could not be licensed in NM?? If things have changes wityh regards to NM, let me know.
Hopefully, as more UNIBE grads go out there in the US, these sillly state restrictions will soon be obliterated one day. One can only hope.

    PEACE!

That may be true however it would seem a state governmental public servant would/should address the issue and inform us of proper decorum.

Additionally, every licensed CA doctor is online via CAMB website along with year of licensure and medical school.

You concern regarding posting of this information possibly being illegal should most certainly be addressed by Ms. Park.

Re; "UNIBE's continued defiance in enrolling Californians and California-interested persons while remaining an unrecognized school."

I too was a bit taken by this statement. It would seem Ms. Park believes it is somehow illegal for a non CA recognized school in another jurisdiction to accept CA/interested students.

I 've heard that UNIBE needs to make minor changes to its curriculum (clinical sciences) long before they can even apply for the license - this according to a former top level UNIBE employee; i.e Child Abuse, Drug Abuse classes... Can someone shed some light on this (preferably DR H)? Thanks...
