    Pucmm vs uasd

Which is better in terms of education, where will I learn more, Santiago campuses.

I've been to both campuses, was not impressed with PUCMM, on the other hand, everyone talks down UASD, but when I want, it looked better than PUCMM, to me anyways, both are Cali certified, so I wonder, do I pay 8 times more and go to PUCMM?

you will learn more depending on how much you study, what you study , how seriously you take your studying, if you have the right books and preparation for USMLEs.
it doesnt matter if you go to TIMBUCTOO/Greenland/the or planet MARS to study.
you folks had better stop looking at the school as the key to your success. You are wasting your time. Find out what you need to know to pass the qualifying exams and bury yourself in a room and book book book. You will not be spoon fed like you are in the USA Medical schools. learn to feed yourself!

just consider them idiots! The truth: they are naive, nervous, want people on their side, because in their minds if people go to their camp it must be the greatest camp. They are not to be blamed! You all want this MD so badly. You will do and say anything. Do you all realize the work ahead of you? You are all FMGs fighting for a position in the USA. Pass your tests, be a person not a "this or that graduate", be a person, learn that empathy, sympathy and caring is what you are supposed to have.
Incorporate your learned skills into your desire to HELP people not yourself!
    Help others!
Ill give you a metaphorical situation. A friend of mine wants to shoot photographs so badly, tells me it is a passion. But he waits around for the best Camera to evolve from Nikon or Canon. Waits and waits and waits. Ten thousand photo opportunities later he is sans camera but greets me all the time, "Doc im getting one soon i want the best" Now this isnt about photography but the lesson here is simple right?
Wait around for the Best ( which doesnt exist and even better doesnt exist because there are so many factors to consider youll go crazy ) and nothing happens!

Ill show you the diplomas of hundreds of MDs from UCE who now are quite successful,
practicing medicina in the USA and ill bet ya out of the thousands of patients they have doctored no more than 3 asked them where they went to medical school. If youre a good doctor and care about your patient which these days alot dont,
then patients will have optimal opportunity to feel better. Whether they get better is too complex to talk about here. If youre still awake, and you know the school puts out MDs and its WHO accredited and its liveable get started!

The truth though, is that la USAD as public university has many many administrative problems. Putting aside education and the campus, la USAD is very disorganized. Many times, they don't offer classes or there aren't enough seats. This problems lead to you not completing your degree in resonable time.

I've heard this, but I have a cousin, who's best friend is in the capital, and she's going for medicine, and she's told me that even with all the issues, she'll be graduating at 5.5 years in. So I'm not too worried.

Right now, I'm more worried with getting my records to be accepted here, it's been hell, as I'm not in the US, and I'm doing everything by proxy.

If anyone knows, what are the monthly costs of UASD?

Both of my previous roommates attend la UASD for medicine. That has not been there case. As far as tuition, I believe there rates are dependant on what high school you graduated from. I think the most expensive scale is only 100 pesos per credit which is roughly 3 US dollars.

How long have your previous roommates had to wait, over the course of their studies, is it a few days per semester, or have they lost whole semesters or even years?

Dipre, let's be honest here. In the other thread you did not get called an idiot without reason. Maybe try not to insult professors at the PUCMM and maybe you won't be treated as harsh.

You have been warned of UASD, both here and there. It might be 8x or even 100x cheaper than PUCMM but considering PUCMM is only $USD15 what does it matter? I' cheap, but even I have my limits.

Save yourself the headache, don't go to a public school here. Infact try to get involved as little as possible with the government and trust me things just work out.

CONSTANT student huelgas (protests), teachers not showing up, people being held back semesters... ect ect, oyea and they found a weapons cache there a few months ago too, at least that's what it said in thepapers.

Listen to yourself, you are already going to a 3rd world country, with all of its defects. Do you really really want to go to a public institution in a 3rd world country? Trust me, PUCMM and DR are arleady pooh poohty enough as it is.

Everyone says, "UASD is a great school, the people who graduate from there are so well prepared" They say that NOT because it's great academcically but because IF you grad from there, well, hell, you could do anything because you have just achieved the impossible.

losackmd said it doesn't matter where you grad from, ok, let's asume its true (I don;t quite agree) good luck trying to get anything done there at the offices of the UASD. I know people who wait YEARS after they graduate just to get thier papers from the offices stamped and FOUND.

There are three options in this country, you know the ones I am talking about. You got some great advice from first hand expeirence at the other site. Ignore the professor if you want, but heed the first hand experience from the other posters.
