Pre Med Curriculum
Hi. I have been considering Unibe for a while and have a few questions. Not sure if anyone knows, but for the Pre Med Curriculum, it looks grueling. There are like 7 classes per semester, half of which are 4 credits. That would put someone over 21+ credits if they went just as scheduled. Is that ever done? Or are they expecting that most students will have completed some of the pre-med before entering the program?
Also, are the classes only offered at specific semesters? Any info would be appreciated...thx! (: |

thanks for the info. Wow! 28 credits! That's a far cry from the 13 - 19 that they suggest here in the states. Are the classes less intensive? I'm a very good student and my grades have always been close to 4.0. But I'm not sure how I would handle a 28 credit courseload. But you say it's not so bad....can u explain a little more?
Also, I am visiting the D.R. in a couple weeks. I hope to tour the college and gather as much concrete information as possible. Any suggestions for who to talk to? Any specifics to pay attention to or to ask from your point of view? Again thanks for any responses. |

YES, suggest you talk with Dr. Acosta, The Registrar, Victoria Luna, Director of Student Loans/Financial Affairs and Elizabeth Farrell, Director of Student Services. All will give you some first hand information on what it is like to be a student here. Then of course, you are welcome to talk to me if you can understand someone with a Southern accent that I have been told I have?????

thank you
I would be delighted to meet with you, Dr. Holbrook. (I understand southern accents quite well and actually find them endearing.) Thank you for the opportunity. And I will try to secure appointments with each of the other people you have mentioned too.
Thus far, I've been unable to get the right person on the phone to direct me and make those appointments for me. I'll be arriving in Santo Domingo on 3/11/08 and staying for 9 days. I'm not sure which day works best for you or the most people there. But whatever it is, I can use that day or a couple, if needed, to meet and gather information. Thank you for the response. |
