Clarifying a few things

Why its closed on wed....Dr. ****** and his staff asked if it would be better to have the one off day during the week instead of the weekend, seeing as many students are slammed with responsibilities during the week, and then they could study their one free day, which for many is sunday. I guess that just as many students are slammed with brugal induced hangovers on the weekend, and as such want the day off to be on sat or sun.
Why he hasnt taken the test himself...Dr. ****** is an academic. He has no desire as far as I know to ever work in the states. There is no doubt in my mind that if he took it, that he would ace it. I´ve never met anybody with a knowledge of medicine like him.

Dr ******'s English is just fine....those who detract are either lazy, tone deaf or just dont pay attention. I have had numerous conversations with him in person and its just not an issue. The man, in my opinion, has forgotten more medicine than I will likely ever learn in my life. His course its outstanding and I could give a flying rat's butt if he takes USMLE or not. The only USMLE that I care is passed and taken is my own!

I finished in UNIBE on december 06 and here is my opinion: there is a reality, UNIBE don't prepare us to pass this tests. For those who hasn't started yet studying for the boards, let me tell you that it is going to be super HARD but is not impossible and we can do it. The bad thing is that when we finish our career we have this mega big lagoons fill with all the concepts we don't understand in our heads and the saddest part is that we have to figure it out alone. I'm telling you this because it happen to me. That force us to last loooonger in order to be ready for the boards. Don't get me wrong, UNIBE does has really good teachers and they will try to teach the best they can. Is just that I think that UNIBE should invest a little bit of money in preparing their doctors on how to teach students in a way that they can pass the boards. Is not impossible but it depends on what UNIBE wants. I heard that now they are doing a research on how are the passing scores of the students that already took the test. I hope that when they see that a looooot of people are not passing, they do something about it. And by the way hi dr. holbrook, you are awesome, one of my favorite teachers in UNIBE!! and I got my hopes in Dr. Nunez that he will do the best to change the things in UNIBE for better!! so in the meantime, i strongly recommend you people that always study very hard and by yourself. I study with kaplan because i didn't new ****** and I'm not even sure if he was there before I leave but the point is that you have to do everything you can to pass this tests. I have heard that for some people Kaplan is good and for others not. As for me kaplan is not enough. i didn't pass the test in my first attempt. I think that all the Qbanks I did was my salvation to pass. Honestly if I were there studying right now i will give a chance to ****** classes. We don't have anything to loose, except money, and the fact is that is cheaper than kaplan and i have heard good things and more specially i see that dr. holbroock said good things too. So start studying soon in your career. I wish you all the best in your careers

Uce Program

Hello All:

It sounds like Dr. ****** should become a full time Professor of Medicine at UCE. Maybe that is what the Dean of Medicine was discussing with him? Anyway, good luck to all of you who are using him as a supplement to your studies. There are other programs as well, for example the PASS program taught by Dr. *******.

Regards,

PILOTOMD , MD UCE '04

I dont think Dr. N is as popular as Dr. F yet so that the automated Valuemd name editor doesnt recognize it.
