well, dr. najeeb makes it easier by providing students a list of available videos according to the med semester you are in. So if i'm in med 2 or 3, at the beg. of the semester, he will give me a list of all the classes i have and which videos he have covering my current subjects.
So when i was taking physio 1, he had incredible videos on action potential, cardio physio, he also had resp. physio. I watched those videos and made my own notes (i bascially write down everything he says lol), then read from the textbook or brs and later go thru kaplan videos/ntes and do the questions if i had time.
I admit, it can be overwhelming at times, and i did not do kaplan for all the subjects. Certain subjects are higher yield so its important to have a better understanding of those.
I have to admit, Dr. najeeb does not have videos completed on all the subjects. He is missing quite a few biochem and genetics and patho...all very imp. subjects but he records 1-2 videos per week and he says all of them will be completed in another yr (hopefully).
His immunology and neuro is section is amazing!!!
Patho i just use robbins and goljan's rapid review (awesome) and if someone has those infamous audio notes, you can't go wrong.
what semester are you in immunologic?

Well, the 15 semesters include a year of internado after the 12th semester. Our pensum, which is # 22, describes the year of internado ,as the 13th,14th and 15th semesters.

Yes, but keep in mind that many if not all medical schools in the USA only have two semesters per year with the summer off. Also be advised that the U.S. medical graduate receives his M.D. PRIOR to internship and receives their license AFTER internship.

And for a bit of history, we were among the first to take exams on a National level....they were called National Boards. But that was back in ancient times, just after the barber surgeons....lol

I just finished kaplan live lecture in chicago and plan to take my exam in Dec. Before that i had the pleasure of attending some of najeebs lectures, and using his center for a brief period. I regret not being able to spend more time in his center.

Kaplan is a review course, it does not teach you anything. It only gives u a quick review of high yield material. And if you master it you will be able to pass the USMLE.

To get into the 90s range you need to have understanding, and you need to be able to make associations of the concepts. That is something kaplan is not going to give you because it takes to much time to do so. This is what najeeb does for you, and he explains it so well, that it sticks to memory, and your able to make those associations by pulling in all subjects together. What he has taught me has helped me so much, and things that were so complicated and looked chinese to me, he made it so simple.

I didnt take the exam yet, but some of my friends who have attended najeeb, and also kaplan have passed with 90+ range. They all thank najeeb so much.

i suggest you go to him and check him out, take some of his free lectures, infact he will let you use the center free for a trail period you will see the difference. My freinds that did pass took najeeb, and also integrated the kaplan books, then finally integrated all that information the first aid, and did very well...( take the best of everything).

good luck

Alright, well I've been studying at Najeebs for a little over 1 semester now. My friend Safa who just left last week to go to Kaplan live lectures in Houston tells me that everything she learned from Dr. Najeeb helped build her foundation in Basic sciences.
At the beginning of each live lecture with Kaplan when you start up they give you a Step 1 diagnostic test, and from what I've heard it is harder than the real thing. In her class, the average was a 37.5%, she managed to get a 48%.
They also gave the class a test on physiology a couple days later, and she managed to get a 95% on that.
She told me she couldn't have done it without going to Dr. Najeeb's lectures.
She is also telling me that she feels as if Kaplan is going a little too slow. She's taking the 6-7 week program.

I also have friends here doing Dr. Najeeb, and reviewing Kaplan videos and understanding everything Kaplan teaches them on these DVD's.

In my opinion Dr. Najeeb's lectures give each student the fundamentals to fully understand and comprehend basic sciences. He makes learning medicine easy, and interactive with his diagrams, along with back stories to help you remember. His facility is amazing, they have a safe and secure place for learning.

If you're still weary, he also offers free sample DVD's which should put your thoughts of doubt to rest. The best thing to do would be going to his office and talking to him directly, and getting those sample DVD's which he would be more than willing to give out.

hello

I am one of the first student who registered into Dr. Najeeb's course. I've been assisting to live lectures and watching videos since Dec 2006. I think Dr. Najeeb is an incredible, smart guy who does love to teach and he is knowledgeable of every subject he teaches. His course is an excellent tool to get ready for the steps since he uses the same books as any medical school and focuses on the material needed for the USMLE. His course is cheaper than all the other courses we all know and it provides you with the opportunity to have a real professor clarifying your doubts. Anybody still saying that Dr. Najeeb is a fraud should reconsider and apologize since that does not seem to be the case. Dr. Najeeb's course has been a great for me since he reinforces my learning of the medical sciences. I recommend to those who are frustrated right now with school to give it chance and join the course. It's great!
