Hun,
I would advise you to stay away from UNIBE. This school is a complete scam. It's all about stealing your money. I made the mistake of going there and i'm trying to get out ASAP. It's rare that you here people in the school not complain unless they've been exposed to worse. If i were you i would try AUA, they have a premed program. |

On admissions...
Hi , I am the Dean of International Affairs at UCNE. Universidad Catolica Nordestana, in San Francisco de Macoris, about an hour and a half from where you are in Santo Domingo. At UCNE, we try to complete all your paperwork ourselves to make it easier for students. We have an excellent Medical School, with an Aprox. 5 year program. We have an office in San Juan, P.R.. If you desire to communicate, feel free to do so. At this time we are processing applications for May 2008. You may share this info with friends. If there is anything at all I can help you with, let me know. By the way, you picked a good school. Thank You

I see I got a sticky on this post. That's very cool. I posted this before I started Unibe a couple of years ago. A lot has happened since. I just finished basic sciences and I'm preparing to take my USMLE Step 1. I am finishing Dr. Najeebs program which is very good and after I will do Kaplan. See, you can do both!
I think Unibe has a lot of potentials. I heard a rumor that the owners (the Azures?) are getting involved personally and cleaning house. This is something good. Unibe has many great professors but It also has horrible ones. However, it always comes down to the student and how much effort they will put into anything. There's only so much a prof. can teach you. The rest, you learn on your own anyways. What happens is people are dragged out to sea by the current. This means they have a bad prof. who doesn't teach well and never goes to class, so people decide not to study either. This is bad. I will say though, the school does listen and care about their students. In the event you have a prof that shows no interest in teaching, it's usually not very difficult to get that person fired. If you want to go to a top notch foreing medical school, then consider the top 5. In the end though, it's all the same. We all have to pass our exams just the same. |
