Im a senior in High School and I am very interested in attending UNIBE, But I have several problems in getting all of my admission requirements. First of all, i certaintly have no idea as to what you mean by legalized copy of birth certificate. Recently i moved, and I have not been able to get in touch with my old teachers, in order so that they could provide me with a letter of Recommendation. I was wondering what are your schools quidelines regarding this.

Thank You,
Roman Castillo

The so called "legalized copy of the birth certificate" is actually a notarized copy. As I understand they as that you send a copy of your birth certificate to a Dominican Consulate in the USA, located in major cities such as Miami, New York, Washington, DC for the service. I would suggest you call Maria Rochy in the office of the Registrar 809-689-4111 ex 1104 and I am sure she can assist you. She speaks English and Spanish. You might also ask about the letters of recommendation and if from school administration would be sufficient. If I can be of help, just ask.

No, as of this writing Unibe is not recognized by California. But I hasten to add the reason is not rejection...they have yet to apply for recognition.

43 STATES THAT CURRENTLY RECOGNIZE UNIBE MEDICAL GRADUATES With M.D. DEGREES.
THIS MEANS UNIBE GRADUATES ARE ELIGIBLE TO TRAIN AND SU8SEQUENTLY BE LICENSED IN THESE STATES THEY HAVE SUCCESSFULLY PASSED THE NECESSARY PARTS OF THE U.S.M.L.E. AND HAVE AN ECFMG CERTIFICATE AND OTHER REQUIRED DOCUMENTS ARE IN ORDER. CHECK WITH EACH STATE YOU MAY BE INTERESTED IN.

1. ALABAMA (CONFUSING?)

Cool Greetings to all

Hello to all aspiring doctors and current doctors in medicine!

My name is Jean Castagne and I am starting UNIBE in September for the medical school level program. I was just wondering approximately how much do I need to live in Santo Domingo for approximately 30 days excluding rent, transportation, and tuition ( thanks to the stafford loan ). Also when I visited the school it seem as if I was taken advantage of because I am from New York and I don't understand spanish! I am not accusing all of such an act but perhaps some people I think did or maybe not . However I will not let that stop me from getting my education done down there and I was also wondering what is the true USMLE scores of UNIBE is it really 85% like the Kaplan Center told me or they are just lying

(One of my schools made an error in my transcript and it took 3 months to fix!) I initially planned to start in January but I did not have all my documents in place by the deadline. Instead of sending an incomplete application (which is a surefire way to get denied) I waited for the next semester.

I was accepted for the May semester and I'm looking for any other applicants that are starting school then. All of my pre-med transfers were accepted and I will start directly in the Medical program.

If anyone that is starting in May wants to contact me to share info., fears, questions, advice, meet up for coffe in Santo Domingo etc., please do so. My E-mail is: Sphinxe79@hotmail.com please write 'UNIBE" in the title.

Thanks and good luck to all
