Your best resource for information about all of the Irish schools is Atlantic Bridge: US and Canadian students studying medicine, dentistry, and veterinary medicine in Ireland. They are the application service for North American students and they are straight shooters, information wise.
In my opinion, Ireland would be an excellent option for medical school. Trinity-Dublin is a world-class institution.
However, it will still be an easier transition into practice if you study in the States. Of course, a low-3's GPA will not get the job done for study in the US, so there is some work to do over the next couple of years. Good luck!
