I have noticed that Ireland is home to some of the most prestigious but priciest medical schools for foreigners. Can some not-so-wealthy international students in Ireland shed some light into how they managed to finance their medical education?

Well, I'm not in Ireland, alas... but if you're an American student I believe the Irish medical schools are approved for US federal student loans.

I am American, but I haven't studied Stafford loans in detail yet. Is there a limit to the amount of loans one can receive? Taking into account living expenses, etc, is an estimate of close to $275,000- $300,000 an unfair calculation for 4 years of medical education in Ireland?
