Are there PreMed programs that once done will enable direct entry in Medical schools in the UK or Ireland for International students?

    Thanks.

    Carribean:
Nope, the programs are mostly school exclusive. You can either try further down south (South America, anyone?), Mexico, or wait for someone to say something about a accredited program.

The education in the Carribean can vary. They can mix the use of local teachers and foreigners. Try a Canadian school, they're pretty cheap and solid. But, if you want top notch education, but expensive, try the UK. The middle ground (in my eyes) would be the US.

    Everywhere else:
If you weren't referring specifically to the Carribean. There are schools with percentage numbers of premed students that actually get into the med school that they're associated with.

    Lastly, licensing requires 60 (2 years)/ 90 (3 years) in US/Canadian school.
But, some States say equivalent too. So, watch out for that.

    That's all I know.

Hope I answered your questions adequately.

    Thanks for your reply.

Since I'm not a resident or either USA or Canada, I understood for example that Med school for Internationals are a bit challenging. I don't know about Canada.

What I mean is to enter a PreMed program, as once done, I can enter Med School IMMEDIATELY.

Where are the Med Schools I'm willing to enter in?

UK, Ireland, Australia, Newzealand, Poland, Malaysia

Are there PreMed programs that route you to Universities in such countries?

    Thanks.

Depends on your grades and the country you attained them from. If you're from Canada (like me) you'll have enough reputation (more so then our curriculum deserves) to have shot in other countries (this goes for the Indian 10+2, O-levels, etc.)

But, if you have good A-levels, AP, Irish Highers, or IB (higher levels). You can probably jump into any 1-2 year premed program and go directly into a med school (some even offer accredited/recognized bachelors after the first 2 years).

I'd say if you have the money (or loans) try the UK or Ireland. I don't know too much about Australia & New Zealand, but I've that there are some difficulties getting recognized state side and in Canada (additional course nonsense). Poland sounds solid and Malaysia if you don't have the money, but want a reputable education.

Furthermore, Canada began examining other schools in other nations this year. So, universities formally unknown may get accredited (don't rely on this).

Btw, Indian schools and some Pak schools are terrific, but the $100k donations at some of them are killer.

I'd suggest looking at this list for schools that you should be aiming for (in the requested countries). There are 3 recognized Malaysian schools in that country alone.
And, look around for how clinicals are done there/ reputation/ known problems.

Also, find the Texas list... that will narrow your search down even more.

I'm still studying in the premed area, but that's my research.

Where are you doing the PreMed?

And, what I just really want to know about is PreMed programs that tell their students that once done you can enter the Med school immediately.

    Any ideas?

I can't really answer your first question (it's a secret). But, I've done my work, rest assured.

No reputable program would be like that. In the UK for example after the first (or second) year it's open season. You can get a BA or BSc if you choose too (or if you are not accepted into the higher med years).

But, if you want a clear cut answer, there's India (specifically Sri Ramachandran, Manipal Katsurba college, or somewhere in Bangalore), Northumbria Uni in the UK (minimum 60% GPA to SGU), or well... that's as far as my current knowledge will take me.

Basically, a lot of MBBS programs will get the job done for you (straight out of highschool). But, again, reputable programs will make it competitive even for their own students.

Actually, after one or two years of US/Canadian accredited uni... you could apply to MUA. If you get 4.0, you move to Saba, otherwise you go onwards with MUA.

    Thanks for your reply.

As for MUA, I think you can do the PreMed in MUA itself.

I hope you can give me information on such programs that can send you to Europe.

As for Northumbria University in UK, when you mentioned (Minimum 60% GPA to SGU), do you mean to get 60% in the PreMed program they offer as a pathway to SGU?

    Thanks.

Yup, I called the office recently. They said those students need a minimum of GPA 3.0 at Northumbria to move onto Med Sem I/II

    Yes,there are...
In Ireland the Griffith college,a very famous and prestigious college/university in Dublin, runs a 1 year course that guarantees a place at the Royal college of Surgeons in Ireland. The school is called D.I.F.C(DUBLIN INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION COLLEGE),It's part of griffith college and once you get 65% or more, you have a place at the Royal college of surgeons. The problem is the price : 45.000, 00 a year...it's very high.
In the U.K,The university college london, runs an international foundation year, specifically designed for medicine, and once you pass the course, with 65% or more, you get a place too.UCL is one of the best universities in the U.K and the fees are around 25.000, 00 a year.
At Northumbria university,You can do a 1 year course,it's a high national diploma in medical sciences, and if you get 60% or more, you automatically go to Saint George's in Grenada. And if you consider the caribbean, you can go to Sussex to the pre-med,onde you get 65%,they assure a place at St.Matthew's University.
These are the only ones that can assure a place at a medical school in the countries, but, there are plenty other pathways to get to a medical school. Both in the U.K and in Ireland, they ask for work experience,it's really important.Medicine in Ireland is better than in the U.K I think.
