511 points The course has been running for a few years already,it is a legit course and recgnized by the G.M.C The university of Buckingham is a great university and the only private university in the U.K.If you have any queries, the best thing to do is to get in touch with them.Buckingham is a charming city,I'm not sure if the medical programme is delivered there though, but the university is good and well ranked. If you take a look on the GMC website, you'll probably not fiind the uni. of buckingham there,as they only publish universities that offer undergraduate programmes.I think it's not that hard to get into as it's a new programme and also quite expensive...the downside is that it's a new programme,so...not everyone knows about its existence...

511 points hi...thanx for the reply docvempire
CORRECT me if i am wrong but i went through the websitr of university and it says that it only sponsers few students for GMC registration and not all the candidates so it clearly means that it still does not have GMC recognition and only very few lucky students will be able to get benefit if they are sponsered by university or medical school.....and without recognition no carrer prospects in future.....?
510 points To answer your questions.....chances of getting into medical training after this course is lying in the negative side. Extremely hard to get into training here as they give training posts only to UK citizens....Best you can land after this course is TRUST GRADE SHO post and thats it. As for the registration, getting registration through the course is an extremely lengthy process, you can finish your plab and get full registration in 1/4th that time, If you put good effort into it and go to the swamy course here in london for plab you will pass both parts of plab in 6 months max.
510 points Any student enrolled in the MD internal medicine at Bucks would like to share the experience.
I am wondering to join the course but need some feedback.
Kindly share if you can.
Thanks

510 points Dear everybody;
I am looking forward to join the next MD Clinical GIM Program at Buckingham university. Anybody now in the same program or have been done so???
Please any information??/
Thanks
510 points I am a US representative for a new MD program with the University of Buckingham. We just launched a new medical and dentistry course. We are accepting new applications for medical course to the January 2014 intake.
It is a legitimate course. Our requirements are a minimum of 3.5 cumulative GPA.
Pros are : High quality education. Small classes. Safest campus in Europe, close to London, Paris, and Italy. Our graduates find jobs all over the world, and the friendships they make here go a long way to broadening their experience and to giving them links that, possibly, no other university can do at such an intense level.
Cons: We do not offer financial aid
If you have any other questions please let me know
Thank you
Anna

510 points MD in General Internal Medicine (Clinical)
The University of Buckingham offers two routes to the award of an MD in General Internal Medicine:
A 2-year structured MD in General Internal Medicine (Clinical)
A one-year MSc in Clinical Science, followed by a 2-year structured Clinical MD
The MD programme launched in May 2008, and is open to physicians who have completed a one-year compulsory internship. The MSc option is for those doctors who want formal research experience in a laboratory environment in addition to clinical training
University of Buckingham School of Medicine is a GMC approved sponsor for full registration with the GMC. The University will start sponsoring selected candidates on the MD programmes for full registration in the near future. Such candidates will be granted full registration by the GMC at the end of first 3 months of their MD programme, enhancing the clinical experience during the remaining MD training. Providing candidates’ performance during the MD training remains satisfactory, GMC registration will remain valid after the successful completion of the MD programme.
