How long doctor has to wash his hands before an operation?

There is no set time. That's like asking how long it takes for someone to take a shower. It variable. Besides, it's not how long....it's how well. There is a certain technique to it. It's not just simply "washing hands". Also, the more experienced the surgeon, the less time it will probably take them for the same results. Why do you ask?

Please brush your hands, nails, forearms,wrist well for at least good two minutes

i was told by the head scrub nurse at columbia that 3 minutes is the correct amount of time needed to scrub. There is a certain technique to use during this time.....please consult the srub nurse at your hospital for a demonstration...

Every hospital has different timing But generally,....... B4 starting Ist case in the morning 10 min. scrub and 5 min for each subsequent case.
But after contaminated case Eg. Colon surgery etc.. 10 min. scrub for the next case. Always 10 min. scrub for every long ortho case.
