Are ALL Caribbean schools BANNED in Texas?

So is Ross really banned in Texas? I am really freaked out about this issue. Reputation is very important to a medical school, and if Texas is banning Ross grads from getting a PERMANENT Lincense, then this tells people (including residency directors and other state medical boards) that Ross grads cannot be trusted. Texas is just one state too many. What if other states follow Texas's footsteps and also start banning Ross grads.

I e-mailed the Texas board many times about this issue, but they never respond back. Is Ross doing anything about this issue? I know that they met with Texas in April, but are there any NEW developments? Is Ross just accepting the fact that it got banned in Texas, and giving up? What is Ross telling you guys about this?

I really think this is a very important issue that might determine the future of Ross. Texas is just one state too many. If other states start banning Ross too, then there is no telling what the future of Ross will be. Ross really have to solve this problem ASAP. If you know any information about this issue, please let us know.

Thank you

Have you done a search for this problem because i am pretty sure it has been dealt with before?
Anyway, right now ross students, and all caribbean grads, are unable to obtain a liscence in Texas. You can do a residency there but you will not be lisenced after it. Ross has lawyers and lobbyists working on the problem. Texas is being very stubborn about it from what we were told. They hope to have the problem resolved soon.

texas

Contact the Texas Board of Medical Examiners website and look for the link to schools approved in Texas. It is easier to call TBME than email.
Best of Luck.

Yeah, Ross is BANNED in texas. (love how you had to put that in caps on the thread title...really shows you're not worried about it as much as you are seemingly "rubbing it in.").

Yeah, i guess you're right...Ross grads shant be trusted...other states should follow and not trust Ross grads either...all at the example of one state, the state of Texas...all states should follow exactly what texas does, just like how the other 49 states are willingly considering the death penalty for all criminals.

No, Ross doesnt care...the executive members who run the school just kinda said, "oh well" whence the Texas decision to BAN Ross had been made...so obviously, they're not doing jack about the issue and have presumably "given up."

Oh, and the fact that you said "What is Ross telling you guys about this?" kinda gives away the fact that you're not a student here, and you're probably here to troll the forums in the hopes that you will detract potential Ross students from acquiring a good medical education here just like thousands others before them have done (and for some reason, you're pissed off about the fact that those many thousands have done so, while you also believe that potential students will actually be detracted by your anonymous, untrusted identity).

Why do you care so much about it anyway? you're not a student at Ross...you're a student elsewhere, somewhat obviously due to the fact that your screen name implies you will be graduating soon from a medical school and are probably in your 3rd or 4th year at another institution...most likely an international institution (which would explain why you are even viewing these forums).

You made a lot of assumptions. We all know what happens when somebody presumes to assume....

Texas is not licensing Ross grads at this point. But word is there is a lawsuit in the works against Texas. Should be interesting to see how the lawsuit works out against the ignorant rednecks.

According to Dr. Nanci Perri, Dean of Clinical Students.......Texas is not granting new licenses to physicians who petition for them........you are allowed to do clinicals and residency in Texas, but will not be state board certified........people who are already practicing are grandfathered and have nothing to worry about...........
