Agraphia is on a distinguished road
much needed advice

I am an AUA student who just passed step 1 and am waiting to be placed into clinical rotations. The next available ACGME or AOA approved rotation is early Janurary which is an extremely long wait..... or I can try this....

The American University of Antigua is pleased to announce that it has entered into a unique affiliation agreement with San Juan Bautista (SJB), School of Medicine – a U.S. LCME-accredited medical school. This joint effort will offer qualified AUA students the opportunity to participate in clinical clerkships as enrolled visiting students of SJB. SJB has clinical sites in Florida and Puerto Rico. These sites have all the necessary resources that meet the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) guidelines.

In addition, SJB, based on their positive faculty review of AUA, has agreed to give transfer priority to AUA students subject to availability and students meeting their requirements for transfer.

AUA is the first and only Caribbean medical school that has been able to enter into an affiliation with a U.S. LCME-accredited medical school that will provide clinical clerkship opportunities and the opportunity to transfer.

Im thinking of going down as a "visiting student" and starting my rotations while at the same time applying for transfer (the whole transfer application process should take about 6 months). If I get accepted, by that time I would have already done 2-3 rotations at SJB and will be ahead of the game. Im worried that if I do not get accepted as a transfer student and stay and rotate as an "AUA student who is enrolled as a visiting student at SJB", I might run into trouble when it comes to licensure because even though the school is a US LCME medical school, the rotations are not ACGME.

Im thinking that if I dont get accepted as a transfer student and I continue to rotate through all my cores as a visiting student, when it does come time to apply for my license in the future, states will have a hard time not approving rotations at an LCME US medical school.

Any advice is MUCH APPRECTIATED...

Thanks
