state medical boards need oversight by state legislature

eventhough i dont like more bureaucracy state medical boards need oversight by the state legislature or independent nonpartial committee

the tx medical board has been running out of control and engaging in illegal tactics. being on a medical board does give the board member some
immunity.

this is not an isolated case. this type of thing is happening in multiple states.

the only organization i see doing anything is AAPS. i actually spoke to them and they are party to the lawsuit against the tx medical board.

the tx legislature is holding hearings and showing interest in cleaning
up the medical board.

in tenn we have a good ol boy screening licensure applications.

even the ama is doing nothing regarding this situation.

on this board people want to restrict licensure to certain grads; what
about holding these board members accountable. they hold a position
of public office and are entrusted with being fair.

read the AAPS website ; and if anyone knows of other organizations
advocating on the behalf of physicians lets hear about it.
